Pink Is The New Red

I can’t remember where I first saw the pronouncement, but ever since I read that “pink is the new red”, I’ve been eager to experiment with the traditional Christmas combo of red/green, and use pink/green in a Christmas card!

Today’s card features pretty purple DCWV cardstock, layered with Martha Stewart papers that Secret Santa Joyce brought me, and topped with die cuts from KI Memories.

So, what do you think?  Will you be giving pink/green a try, or sticking with red/green on your next Christmas project?

While you reflect on those choices, here is Verse 2 from “Oh Christmas Tree” – for Verse 1, click here!

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thou hast a wondrous message:
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thou hast a wondrous message:
Thou dost proclaim the Saviour’s birth
Good will to men and peace on earth
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thou hast a wondrous message

    Hi Christina,

Now that I think of it, I recall seeing some beautiful Victorian trees featuring pink in years past!

That's a GREAT question – what other non-traditional colors can we come up with in our designs for other holidays?

I guess New Year's Eve and New Year's Day is next up on the list right after Christmas.

What traditional colors do you associate with those holidays, and what do you think would make some awesome substitutes to try out?
