ATC: Mirror Mirror & A Kindred Spirits Challenge

Believe it or not, I still have a few leftover items from my Girly ATC kit to play with, and Mirror Mirror is the latest ATC I have created using these elements!

When I first saw the mirror in the kit, the rhyme “mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” flashed through my head and I decided to create a card about a woman’s self-image. I thought the beautifully adorned lady from Altered Pages would be the perfect image to feature on the ATC. The stamped crown, which I found difficult to incorporate into my previous cards, fit perfectly with this theme. So often, when we look into a mirror, what we see isn’t a reflection of reality – it’s a reflection of how we feel about ourselves at any given moment. On this day, our lady feels like a queen: she has adorned herself in flowing silk, surrounded herself with beautiful jewels, and sees royalty reflected back when she looks in the mirror. The crown is symbolic of what she is feeling at that moment. But, the mirror is a fickle friend, as the title so subtly reminds us.

Now, just for fun, I have a little Challenge for my faithful Kindred Spirits. Who among you recognizes the beautiful backdrop I used for my ATC?  Hint: This is not the first time a photograph featuring this paper has appeared at Create With Joy!

If you can correctly identify the post on which this backdrop debuted, I invite you to leave your response in the comments by Sunday night (April 18th, 2010, Midnight PST!)

Note: Correct responses will remain on moderation until after the challenge closes so that all can enjoy the challenge!

Next week, I will tally the correct responses and select someone to receive a few goodies from me, just because I appreciate you all so much! I will announce the winner on Thursday, April 22nd, which is the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day.

OK, have fun – one guess per person – and leave your contact information in your comment!
