When you close your eyes and think of summer, what do you see? Does the season evoke sweet memories of lazy days, the air rich and fragrant from flowers in bloom? Do you recall a past love, a summer romance, perhaps even a first kiss? Are you transported through time to an exotic place you once visited? What would summer look like if you tried to capture those memories and feelings on paper?
This collage captures many of the feelings and memories that summer evokes for me, as well as the theme of these challenges:
Summer Memories is special for another reason as well. Today, Rachel Withhaus launches Haus Designs, a site offering a unique line of elegant embellishments for paper crafters. When Rachel offered me the opportunity to create a launch project for Haus Designs featuring one of her beautiful handcrafted pins, Summer Memories was born!
I created the floral piece by layering several flowers together, inserting the Haus Designs pin between the layers for safety, and topping the flower with a half-pearl to capture the elegance of the pretty pin Rachel sent me. You can use these flowers in many types of projects – I’m thinking of using my next one for a pretty altered box!

Love your room, that HUGE tabletop is awesome. But I ESPECIALLY love-love-love your kitty cats. I have 3 Maine Coons and they are just the most precious kitties in the whole world.
