What’s Inspiring You This Week?
Here’s What’s Inspiring Me…
Faith Hope Cherry Tea
Friday Five – Artsy Creative Ministry
This week Faith Hope Cherry Tea participated in the
Friday Five meme at Rev Gal Blog Pals and
Reflected upon the role of art in her ministry and her life.
One of the things she has been thinking about is
“The idea of art as a venue to give voice to the voiceless.”
I’ve been thinking about this concept as it
Applies to our blogs and social media as well.
I believe it’s important for us to
Make A Difference
In whatever venue God has placed us in!
On October 11, 2012 a new holiday was born –
The International Day Of The Girl.
This day is important because it raises awareness
Of the plight of girls around the world who are
Denied an education and forced into child marriage.
A Modern Day Hero Fights For Her Life
This week, I have been
Deeply moved and inspired by Malala Yousafzai,
A courageous 14-year old Pakastani girl who is
Fighting for her life after being shot by the Taliban
Because of her stance on education.
At age 11, Malala began blogging for the BBC
About life under the Taliban regime.
Here are a few excerpts from Malala’s blog.
In 2011, Malala was nominated for the
International Children’s Peace Prize.
At 13, she became the first Pakastani to win the
National Peace Award.
Below is a clip of a 2011 CNN interview with Malala.

Thank you for sharing about Malala, she truly is an inspiration.
I could not agree more June. I don’t use the word “hero” lightly, but she is a true hero in my book!
Thanks for the lovely features & for hosting, & God bless!
You too Laurie! Thanks for your support! 🙂
It’s amazing what some courageous girls are doing to try to improve conditions for girls! Thanks for sharing that inspiration. My latest post was about International Day of the Girl, too. I’m always shocked to think of the many ways girls need advocacy even in the United States. Deb @ RaisingFigureSkaters.com
Deb, I don’t know if you know it or not, but it was through your blog that I first became aware of the International Day of the Girl. I have been unable to stop reading and watching the videos on all of the different sites… There is so much we take for granted and so much heartbreak that we cannot imagine. I hope that by spreading awareness of these issues, we can become in our own way a part of global change.
I am so happy to have found your blog. Thank you for sharing so many wonderful inspirations!
