This Week’s Theme
One Small Step
The New Year is in full swing!
Over the past few weeks we have identified our
One Word and a few Resolutions that will help us to
Keep our goals and priorities in the forefront of our minds.
Now its time to focus on putting these plans into action.
Change occurs when you take small steps towards your goals
Consistently time and time again.
This week, I invite you to share some of the
Small steps you are taking that will help you
Accomplish your goals!
My Response – One Small Step
A few weeks ago, I shared at Friendship Friday – Resolutions
That one of my goals for the New Year was to focus on
Improving my health and fitness levels.
Here are a few Small Steps I’ve taken that I hope will
Result in Big Gains over time!
I moved from a one-story to a tri-level home
To increase my daily activity level.
I started walking several times a week.
I got a pair of new fitness shoes.
I joined a New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge!
I’m reading four books in January that will support me in my goals!
Now it’s your turn to share!
What Small Steps are you taking to ensure that
2013 is your best year ever?
One Word 2013 Blog Hop
Have you chosen One Word as your theme for 2013?
Be sure to share it at our One Word 2013 Blog Hop!
This inspiring party is open during the entire month of January!
Friendship Friday #50 – One Small Step

Good luck with your reading challenge! It sounds like a very worthy one. Currently I am taking a dog walking challenge that will, hopefully, help get me into better shape. Thanks for hosting Friendship Friday!

A dog walking challenge? That sounds like fun! I can’t wait to hear more about that. Hope you have a fabulous weekend Loy!
I’m riding an exercise bike. There’s no walking outside here. I have a goal of reading 50 books this year and riding the bike is the perfect time to get in some extra reading.

says:
Pamela, I commend you on both of your goals and your steps! An exercise bike is a fabulous way to get exercise year round – and reading while your ride is a fabulous use of your time!
I will be sharing more reading challenges as I have time – perhaps you’ll join me on a few! 🙂

I’m finally working on getting my eBook and products out. I love 30-day challenges, so I’m doing a minimum of 15 minutes a day, 30 days at a time.

Deb, I love challenges too and I commend you on using them as a way to complete your eBook and launch your new products – I look forward to hearing all about them in the New Year!
4 books in a month! Awesome…..Sound like large baby steps! Im impressed….
I love the steps for exercise. Im working on steps slowly. Hubby and I have spoken about me attempting some good exercise to build the ankle up. So back to the gym we will be heading and not just the pool. Which is what I have been doing. I love that this helps hold me accountable to my attempts at 2013’s success. Baby steps everyday towards a more successful year head.
Blessings

Sounds fabulous Beth! One thing that is great about baby steps is the smaller the change, the more likely you are to be able to do it consistently – and the more you do something consistently, the more likely it is to become habit and thus a part of your life!
Look forward to hearing about your baby steps and your big successes throughout the year!

I am working on my spiritual / faith. I have been a lost sheep for a while. I started slow last year and still going. I am hoping that with every little step, I will build a great foundation so that I will never get lost again. Good for you that you’re working on your health! I should too, it is one of my many goals…

Oh I love your Reading Challenge – will have to check that one out! One thing that is unique about me and my blog is well, hey I write from the coast of Rhode Island and how many Bloggers are crazy about God AND Shark Week? I don’t know but somehow my blog is unique because I want it to be a place where I shine my light for Him…but I guess after all He makes each of us unique. So I guess in a way that makes each one of us who blog in hopes of glorifying Him unique. Did I just evade the question? ANyway…Hmmmm. Best wishes on your Fitness journey, and you are right- it is each of those small steps over time that build the consistency needed to succeed in change and goal attainment. Onward, my friend!

Thanks for hosting, my Dear Friend
Have a perfectly awesome weekend:)
PS I have decided 2013 is my year to be happier and healthier so I intend to laugh more and walk more so that’s what I do, I walk around laughing, LOL Not to worry I live in the country so no one witnesses this strange behavior, LOL
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
Dear Evelyn,
Thanks for making ME laugh with your wonderful, delightful comment!
Your goal to laugh more and be happier is one of the nicest ones I’ve seen –
If we all did that, I think we’d all be a lot healthier! 🙂
Since we’re planning on moving back to Seattle this summer, I need to purge So. Much. Stuff. that has been accumulated from being in the same house for 10 years. Especially since I’m such a pack-rat. 🙂 So I’m literally taking a week per room to organize and purge – it’s probably going to take me the next six months to get things down to ‘reasonable’ status before the move, but it’s oh so necessary. 🙂
Thanks for linking up with me – I’ve added your button to my Fridays so I won’t forget to stop by and link up over here each week, too! 🙂

Good luck with your purging and your move Stacy – we still have a ton of purging and a ton of unpacked boxes post-move!
Thanks also for adding Friendship Friday to your blog. I’m so glad you stepped in for Kalaini – more chances to stay in touch! 🙂
Thanks for the invite. I am going to have to think about this… Did I read this right that this is a week long link up… I will try to write something up or join maybe next week.. Will look at your other links too.

Hi Martys,
So glad you stopped by! Yes, all of my regular parties are open all week to give everyone plenty of time to write and link their posts.
I know how frustrating it is to find something you want to join, only to find that it closed several days ago!
So, no matter when you stop by, you should always be able to join in one of my parties – and, once you do, you’ll meet some WONDERFUL bloggers!
Look forward to getting to know you!
I should have made a reading challenge for myself, but first things first – I’m determined to lose 15 pounds by my birthday and I’m already kinda halfway there. I submitted a blog post about starting a new diet plan…and for me, it’s a big challenge because it’s cutting out all wheat…. AND sugar. I am learning a lot along the way, which is always a plus. Good luck with your small/big steps!
Twitter: CreateWithJoy1
says:
Hats off to you Yona for setting such a wonderful goal, committing to it publicly (courageous!) AND being halfway there!
I know how difficult cutting wheat AND sugar out of your diet can be – esp when you try to look for hidden sources!
Here’s a book that may help you with your plan:

Four books in one month! Wow :)) I believe in taking small steps instead of setting yourself up for disappointment. My thing this year is to organize everything…one-step-at-a-time 🙂
Thanks for linking up with my NO RULES Weekend Blog Party!

I have never been one for making resolutions, but you made me think about what I would like to accomplish this year. For me it is my organic garden, I want to learn as much as I can how to produce a successful organic garden.

You too Lisa! I hope to share more reading challenges soon! 🙂
You are off to a great start for just 11 days in to the New Year! Our world turned upside down a week ago. Needless to say…our plans and goals also seemed irrelevant. In the end, it will all work out. Learning now to trust God just a little bit more. 😀

Praying for you, Diane. God is faithful even in the midst of life’s storm. Keep your eyes on Him and don’t be afraid to follow Him, even if He leads you out of the boat and across the water…
Hi Joy,
You’ve taken many small steps – allready! Thank you for encouragement and inspiration, you share here on the blog! congratulations with the new trainers – the New Year’s reading challenge sounds ecxiting … I look forward of hearing more about the books you read. One of my small steps is about counting the graces – Inspired by Ann Voskamps Joy Dare.

Tnank you for YOUR encouragement Nina – I am SO excited to hear that you are counting the graces too! I just left you a comment on your blog!
One of my goals this year is to create a full-time, passive income. I have started using an editorial calendar to help me stay motivated and accountable. So far, it is working out perfectly!

Thank you for inviting me to the Friendship Friday Hop. My blog is about seeking joy despite poverty and illness. I have always loved writing and have just begun to do so. My goal this year is to have focus on the good things in life that He has provided for me and my family. To learn more about me and the hardships of my life take a look at “My Story”. I hope you and many others will like what I have to share. I have very little but, I make do and that’s enough for me. 🙂 This is my blog, All of Me: http://shelleysallofmeblog.wordpress.com/
