What Makes Friendship Friday Unique?

Friendship Friday is designed so that you can participate in the way that best suits your style!

1. Need fresh ideas to blog about? Interested in what other bloggers think about various topics?

Each week, I’ll provide a Theme and Questions to ignite your creativity. You are cordially invited to share your thoughts in a themed Friendship Friday post or to answer the questions in the comments!

2. Want to share your creative talents or highlight a post from the past? Feel free to spotlight your favorite projects and essays!

Whichever option you choose, please add the Friendship Friday button to your post/blog and share this event on your social media sites so that others can join the fun!

This Week’s Theme Is Catharsis

First, Boston… then, Texas… it’s been a challenging week for our nation.

Catharsis is defined as the purging of the emotions or the relieving of emotional tensions, especially through the creative arts.

This week, I’d like to offer those of you who are still processing the week’s events a safe place to share – particularly in a creative way.

If you have a post, poem or journal entry you’ve written – a card or a piece of art you’ve created – a piece of music that expresses your emotions – a book or movie that comes to mind – please, share it with us.

Or, if you’d just like to leave a comment, feel free to do that as well.

Otherwise, it’s open forum – share something wonderful to lift our spirits!

Have a beautiful week and an awesome Friendship Friday!

This week I’m sharing the song and music video Fragile by Sting and a handmade card I created for the people of Boston.

Now, I’d like to fill you in on a little secret. A VERY special guest will soon be visiting Create With Joy! If you’re not a current subscriber, you may want to sign up so you don’t miss his arrival. A welcoming comment could mean something special for you and a friend!

Have Fun!

Have fun connecting with one another – building friendships is what this community is all about!

Welcome Natalie – I’m so glad you joined us! Friendship Friday is a great way to meet new bloggers and grow friendships each week!
There’s really no right or wrong way to do it. If you read through the guidelines, you will see that there is a themed prompt/questions.
A number of people like to write and share themed posts (or share topical posts they’ve already written). Others link their blogs or posts and share their comments and we chat. Often, it depends on people’s schedule and their interest in the topic each week which approach they take.

It’s really awesome when people take time to write on topic because you really get to know them through their posts – but however you choose to participate – welcome – I hope you have a great time making new friends and become one of our regulars! 🙂

P.S. I also host Inspire Me Monday & Wordless Wednesday and post lots in between so have fun exploring while you’re here!

I was reflecting on Philippians as I wrote this post.
I was also thinking of you and your dancing earlier this week as I was writing Inspire Me Monday.
Dance is such a cathartic way to release one’s emotions and you and your husband do it so beautifully…

Have a blessed week, dear friend!

It is really sad what happened in Boston and Texas. I have relatives living in those areas. I pray that those who have suffered loss and injury will be comforted. I am glad to link up again this week. Thanks for hosting and have a good weekend.

I’ve had such interesting conversation with other bloggers I’ve met on your site. You provide a wonderful connection for all of us.

This week I wrote a poem with pictures following the Boston Marathon and extended it to the next day when I realized the personal implications for me: that my life is like a marathon. I’m at the twenty mile point. (Less ahead than behind me.) If I meander, if I don’t live each day, I will not have realized my life for the gift it is. If I train every day for the person I want to be, by the time I cross the finish line I’ll have felt, no matter what, I used myself up in the best possible way.

Thank you for hosting…..Such a great idea to share what makes us zen. I didn’t have anything awe inspiring to share just business as usual. Cooking is one of my regulators and blogging one of my outlets. Sometimes when I just don’t understand..I have to immerse myself into other things before the plan is eventually revealed.

  17. Loy says:

Yes, this has been a challenging week. Thanks for giving folks a place to ‘vent’! Here’s to a happier, safer weekend.

  18. Paula J says:

    Hi Ramona 🙂

Thanks for hosting your party and for linking up with mine!!

I live less than an hour from where the man-hunt is going on right now..Very scary, and I feel for those who live in the evacuated neighborhoods. Hope this ends soon.

Wow, Paula, I hope that you are safe! I could not believe what was going on when I checked the news today.
Finding it hard to focus as I pray for those in the impacted areas!

  19. Lisa says:

I have been praying so hard this week. I am so very thankful for the law enforcement officials, medical personnel, volunteer firefighters and even the bystanders who have put their lives on the line to help people they don’t even know. One of the firefighters killed in Texas was from Dallas and was off-duty. He didn’t think twice before rushing in to try to help. That kind of sacrifice is mind-boggling. Seeing so many help in so many ways, whether donating to the Red Cross for West, Texas or offering prayers for those in lockdown in Boston is consoling for me.

      YES!

We “know” that these people put their lives on the line each day to protect us but when we, the public, actually have a chance to see them in action at times like these – it’s just mine-boggling.

I could not help but feel great national pride as I watched our people in action.

It just makes my heart go out even more to the families when their valiant lives are cut short do to evil deeds.

  20. Laurie at Kottage Kreations on Etsy says:

What a beautiful theme and your post is so heartfelt. I think about each day we have here as the day begins, and I reflect on what goes on in the world. I beleive that there is good in the world. I’m feel really aweful for those affected by the tragedies. We just never know when it would be our last day here. We should all have those goals to make a difference in the world. Be the change~ as Ghandi had once said.

I love the video you posted. It is so very beautiful! Thank you so much for touching my heart today!
