The New Bible Cure For Weight Loss – Book Review

I am always on the look-out for information that will help my family lead a healthier lifestyle. Frequently. I find myself gravitating towards books that deal with the topics of health, nutrition, and weight loss.

The problem with reading these books is that everyone in the field proclaims to be an expert of sorts and – after awhile – you find yourself drowning in contradictory advice from one so-called expert after another!

So – when I came across The New Bible Cure For Weight Loss by Don Colbert, MD – a tiny book that’s just over 100 pages in length – I half expected to read about some back-to-nature nuts and twig diet based on a few obscure passages from the Old Testament.

How pleased I am to report that nothing could be further from the truth!

In The New Bible Cure For Weight Loss, Dr. Colbert – a practicing physician – cuts through all of the outdated, overwhelming, and even dangerous dietary information that’s floating around and presents sound, health and nutrition information in a format that’s easy to understand and truly makes sense!

In many ways, Dr. Colbert ties all of the information those “contradictory experts” share together – showing how they may have been right but only focused on a piece of the puzzle – using each discovery as a building block and presenting us with a simple, yet sensible guide to weight loss and nutrition!

You won’t find any new diets or glossy recipes inside – but you will find lots of useful charts and exercises to help you eat more sensibly and nutritiously. Here are a few of the concepts Dr. Colbert explains in just the first chapter of The New Bible Cure For Weight Loss!

  • Why We Eat Too Much
  • Sugar And /Your Body
  • Glucagon versus Insulin
  • Glycemic Index versus Glycemic Load
  • The Worst Kind Of Fat

You’ll also find Scriptures and Bible Cure Prayers throughout the book to encourage you in your battle against the bulge.

Many of the action-oriented Bible Cure Prescriptions also include prayer as a personal empowerment tool to encourage you to partner with God throughout your weight loss journey.

I found the information Dr. Colbert presented in The New Bible Cure For Weight Loss extremely helpful. This is a book that you can keep nearby and refer to often – no matter what other resources you use!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Well, before I even read this I said, “Oh brother, you got to be kidding me”, everyone has a gimmick. Then it dawned on me of course that’s it. The Bible does help you lose weight because if you’re reading the Bible you’re not eating! LOL So, I guess so! LOL Have a blessed day. I hope you stop by. I posted two songs my dad use to sing to us while taking a long drive. He didn’t know all the words so he’d just da da da dadadeee dadadeeee and then would pick up with the words that he knew. Well, that means I didn’t know all the words then either. LOL But I do now!!! LOL Have a blessed day my friend!

I always try to consider the source before listening to to any advice. Most of all, I listen to my own body. Eating healthy makes me feel better and I do more and I’m more productive. Thanks for sharing with Countdown in Style.

This sounds interesting. I need to loose a lot of weight and my first step is to find out why I eat too much. My second it to eat whole real food. This book may be worth looking into. Thanks for the review.

I find this to be extremely interesting! It’s funny because in following the dietary laws God outlines in the Old Testament, we’ve found that truly most of the foods that studies have shown really are bad for you and that some are also saying you should never consume are things God forbids too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this find with us at Countdown in Style! Don’t forget to stop by Friday to see if you are featured 🙂
