Flowers Whisper Card
The cards that often matter the most to the recipients –but the ones that are the most difficult to send, to create, and to write – are sympathy cards.
How do you share what’s in your heart when the right words escape you?
Flowers whisper what words cannot say.
I came across this beautiful sentiment while sorting through my stamp baskets and it seemed like the perfect expression to stamp on sympathy card!
The sentiment comes from Close To My Heart stamp set D1409 – Flower Pot in case you’re wondering. It’s long retired, so if you can find it, you can probably get a great deal on it!
I always try to create something extra special for occasions such as these.
For this card, I thought the Black and Kraft color combination provided an elegant presentation.
I wanted to layer while keeping things light and ethereal, so I added a snippet of a music-themed transparency to provide a beautiful backdrop backdrop for the large silk flower and diamond-like brad.
Next, I added a lovely translucent swirly sticker lined with little green rhinestones that reminded me of swirling branches, then embellished the design by adding little black flower brads to the tips.
I distressed the edges of the Kraft cardstock to coordinate with the green swirly branches.
Green symbolizes new life and hope.
Do you recognize the Kraft cardstock I used for my cardfront? It’s the back half of last week’s Friendship Blooms Card!
A visit to my craft room would not be complete without a peek at the Crafty Coons! To see how Magellan has grown over the past few months – and to learn why all of his favorite spots on my workspace are now a “tight squeeze” – be sure to drop by Wordless Wednesday!

Such a sweet card! Love the quote.
Love that sentiment – and I have to admit it is not one I’ve seen before. Cute card, and only marginally cuter than that fat cat 🙂 He’s downright majestic!
Happy WOYWW!

It IS a great sentiment..I always use ‘gentle thoughts during these difficult days’ which I first came across by PSX….and I like the Kraft and black combo, it has a sophistication.
It looks like a productive work space! xx Jan (57)

Great card. Sympathy cards are hard but you nailed this one. I thought it was kraft and navy at first and that would be a good color combo too! Judy #76
I so admire you for your creativity. And I love your kitty. It would certainly be a thrill to receive such a card.
Thanks Linda!
Wow, wonderful use of black and white — thanks for entering it in my Favorite Color challenge! I love your sentiment, and especially your use of the music. It suggests that the flowers whisper in music, and I love that idea!

Not the easiest cards to make so well done.
Hope you have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x #38
What a beautiful sympathy card, Joy, and I agree that the lovely sentiment is just perfect. It’s not easy to find the right words for such occasions, is it. I love the music, too – music is a favourite theme of mine.
I finished a card last week (not big on card making generally!) and was working on the videos to upload to Youtube when I was hit with massive chest pains and ended up in hospital on the cardiac unit on Sun. a.m. I was discharged yesterday evening and have been resting all day, feeling totally wiped out. It appears I’ve had a coronary artery spasm and all is clear on the angiogram so hopefully no lasting damage!
Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi #47

That’s a very uplifting sympathy card design, Ramona. The sentiment is definitely perfect, as well as the ethereal feel of the music sheet and swirls of flowers. Blessings, my friend!
