In Perfect Time – Book Review
Love can take flight at any place and any time… even amid the raging battles of war… even as we fight our own inner battles of past hurts, insecurities, and self doubt. But, we are not defined by our pasts – we have the power to overcome those things that hold us back and step into a brighter future.
That is the inspiring message I gleaned from In Perfect Time by Sarah Sundin – the third and final installment of her Wings Of Nightingale Series!
The Wings of Nightingale Series is a trio of books from Revell about three World War II nurses who discover friendship, love and peril on the shores of the Mediterranean.
The central characters of In Perfect Time are Lt. Kay Jobson – a flight nurse who is used to catching the eye of every military man she meets – and Pilot Roger Cooper – the one man who outwardly resists her charms.
Although Kay and Roger are both inwardly attracted to one another, they are haunted by past hurts and have a difficult time believing that they deserve to be loved. However, circumstances draw them together, and we see how the two of them work through their struggles with their selves – one another – and God.
If you enjoy well-researched historical novels that infuse both romance and faith into their story lines, be sure to check out In Perfect Time – or better yet, start at the beginning and explore the entire Wings Of Nightingale Series!
Discussion Questions are provided at the back of the book if you’d like to discuss it with your friends or book club!
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
