Chicken Soup For The Soul – The Dog Did What? – Book Review
It is a rare to meet a person whose life has not been enriched by the love of a dog. There is a reason that dogs are referred to as “man’s best friend”.
That’s why I’m delighted to introduce you to Chicken Soup For The Soul – The Dog Did What? – 101 Stories Of Magical Moments, Miracles, and Mayhem – a book that celebrates the special bond between people and their dogs!
The book opens with a tribute to Cooter Brown – the yellow lab who was there to greet animal advocate and country singer Miranda Lambert when she was born. I was moved to read how Cooter Brown touched Miranda’s life, because I grew up with a black lab named Queenie who also enriched my life in immeasurable ways and taught me invaluable lessons about life, love and friendship.
Whether your dog is good or bad, naughty or nice, I’m sure you have many special stories you love to share. I’m sure you’ll also enjoy meeting the 101 dogs in Chicken Soup For The Soul – The Dog Did What? as their pet parents share their stories in these fun categories:
- Who? Me?
- Learning To Love The Dog
- Who Rescued Who?
- That Little Rascal
- Four-Legged Therapists
- What I Learned From The Dog
- Who’s In Charge Here!
- Meant To Be
- There’s No Place Like Home
- Bad Dog!
Now, if you’re a die hard dog lover, you’ve probably already added this book to your must read list – but if you’re gift-shopping for a friend, you’ll be pleased to know that Chicken Soup For The Soul works hard to promote the adoption of cats and dogs!
- The stories in Chicken Soup For The Soul – The Dog Did What? promote the welfare of dogs by placing a special emphasis on the benefits and joys of adopting abandoned and rescue dogs.
- The folks at Chicken Soup For The Soul are saving lives by donating ALL of their royalties from this book to the American Humane Association (an organization that Miranda Lambert supports!)

When ever we would live the house and come home she would race up the stairs and grab her little ball.
Waiting of course for you to throw it when you came up the stairs.
My little 15 lb. dog pushed our other dog out of the way, grabbed a possum by the neck and killed it – all to protect her dog companion. Thanks for a chance to win this awesome book.

Another fun book for dog lovers everywhere.
Love this series of books.
My dog Tidbit required total privacy for doing her doo-doo. She would always “hide” where she couldn’t be seen to go to the bathroom. If she caught you looking at her, she would stop mid-poo, move to a new hiding spot to finish doing her daily doo.

My dog decided she was invisible if she was behind my curtains. When she would want to “hide” She would always go behind the sheer see-through curtains and sit there like no one could see her. She was an 80 pound white english bulldogs so there was no way you could miss her. She looked so creepy when she sat there!!

That’s so funny! I love it when animals become “invisible” – right in plain sight!
Lately our dog seems to have a strong urge to find and destroy any tissue he can find, Its like a constant tissue hunt.

I’ve never heard of this book, but anyway we have had two black labs one for 17 called Cleo (Cleopatra) who use to jump so high for a treat and also was able to say “I LOVE YOU”. Well she would throw her voice up and down like I did when I asked her to say it. hehehe We miss her very much, but now we have had Baby now since she was 7 and she is now 12 yrs. old and she is so very lovable, and she listens well. She loves to fetch too! The one thing that I think is so cute that when you tell her to take it nice (a treat) she kind of goes in slow motion… otherwise she’ll just snatch it. ~hehehe~ We spoil our baby! 🙂
