The Very Inspiring Blogger Awards – Week 6
Recently, I had the honor of receiving the Very Inspiring Blogger Award from Cathy.
Recipients of this award are encouraged to:
- Thank the person who nominated you and link to their blog.

Friend Of The Week & Inspiring Blogger – Jenni
This week, it’s my pleasure to introduce you to Jenni at Genuflected – a self-described recovering control freak who’s learned that it’s really God who’s in control, even when your worst fears come true!
For Jenni – a Christian Mom – her worse fears came true when her 2-year old son was diagnosed with leukemia and she learned that she couldn’t always stop bad things from happening to her children, no matter how hard she tried. But, in the years that have followed, she’s learned that when bad things happen, that’s when God shows up in a big way and transforms your life in ways you could never imagine.
On Genuflected, Jenni writes about life, family and faith, and how they intersect. She is also the author of two books – Forty Days – A Memoir Of Our Time In The Desert Of Childhood Cancer and Why Won’t God Talk To Me? Surprising Ways He Already Is.
Jenni’s latest project is Lionfighters – a new blog she’s created and will be writing for in collaboration with a doctor, nurse and child life specialist from the Children’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska to support parents who are trying to make sense of their journey through childhood cancer. Please help spread the word so that those who need to reach this site can find it!
I am always inspired by people who use their trials as a way to support others who are facing similar circumstances. That’s a wonderful work that Jenni is doing. I’m so glad our family didn’t go through that. Our house church embraced a family who’s young son has/had leukemia. It’s already a couple years later, the boy is now in grade 4, but continues treatment so he’s not allowed back at school until maybe August of this year. The best thing is that he’s recovering. Oh, and the family joined our fellowship about a year ago. 🙂
