Learning The Secret Language Of Cats by Dr. Carol Teed – Review & Giveaway

Learning The Secret Language Of Cats

Learning The Secret Language Of Cats – Book Review

If we were to meet, it would not take long before you discovered how passionate I am about cats. Where I go – felines follow!

You’d also discover that being an informed cat parent is important to me based on the number of cat books sitting on my bookshelves!

So, it’s with great delight that I share the latest addition to my feline library – Learning The Secret Language Of Cats – A Vet’s Translation by Dr. Carol Teed, D.V.M.

Based on the title of the book, you’d expect to find lots of fascinating facts about how cats communicate their emotions through the twitch of their whiskers, the flick of their tail and other such subtleties – and Dr. Carol does not disappoint.

Dr. Carol provides you with plenty of clues to decode the not-so-secret messages your cats are sending you if you are savvy enough to hear what they’re saying. She even devotes an entire chapter to translating the cat’s meow!

But – like me, you’ll also be pleased to learn that this book contains so much more!

Learning The Secret Language Of Cats encompasses all aspects of a modern cat’s health, well-being and lifestyle and brings you current scientific research and medical information based on Dr. Carol’s personal experience as a feline veterinarian.

Some of the topics I found particularly noteworthy are Dr. Carol’s analysis of cat nutrition and what types of food are best for your cat – her behavioral insights into what stresses indoor cats (and how to alleviate them) – and her inside track on all things health-related as it pertains to your cat.

One thing I particularly liked about this book is that it isn’t just a technical treatise on how to care for your cats. Learning The Secret Language Of Cats is a tribute, based on Dr. Carol’s personal and professional experience, that will help you to love, respect and care for your cats even more!

Dr. Carol notes that “learning the language of cats is a lifelong pursuit” – but when it comes to understanding our beloved kitties, it doesn’t hurt to have a little help!

No matter whether you are living with your first kitten or your fifteenth cat, you are sure to learn something new and vital about your favorite feline in Learning The Secret Language Of Cats.

As a cat lover, I highly recommend this book to you!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

Dr. Carol Teed, D.V.M.

  2. Alesha ol says:

I have 5 meow sons so this intrigues me beyond words!!

  3. We have 4 inside and usually 5 outside. I say usually because we have taken care of 3 kittens since they were born in our garage and usually 2 others come to be fed.
We had, and still have, a lot to learn about them.

  6. Kitties Blue says:

I would love to win this book because with eight cats, they all have different personalities, and I am sometimes unsure what a specific cat is trying to say to me. Hugs, Janet

Thank you Create with Joy for your lovely and thoughtful review of my book. It was written with love. I found it interesting that you called it a tribute to cats because that is exactly what it was meant to be. My hope is that it will change many cat and human lives for the better and reduce surrender and euthanasia of cats due to preventable disease and behavioural problems. Many thanks, Carol Teed
