Card Of The Week – Adorable

I’d like to open today’s post by wishing a Happy Anniversary to Julia and all of my friends from What’s On My Workdesk Wednesday (WOYWW). Six years of showing off desks and sharing creative aspirations with one another – that’s something to celebrate!

One of my favorite types of cards to create these days are cards that combine older items that have not seen the light of day in quite some time with newer, fresher elements that I can’t wait to play with.

Today’s card – Adorable – does just that.

The base elements on the card – the distressed papers, the stamped floral images, the ribbon and brads – are all elements I incorporated from an older, limited edition Close To My Heart card kit that’s now retired.

Don’t you love how the fresh feminine colors in this card give it such an uplifting feel?

Doilies are all the rage right now. I picked up these pretty doilies on a recent stroll down the dollar aisle at my local Michael’s!

I love the pattern on the pretty die cut tag! I wish I could remember the paper manufacturer. Sometimes I cut and stamp things for future projects. I pulled the tag out of one of those bags.

I lightly distressed everything to give it a shabby, vintage feel – and I added a touch of sparkle to give it a finishing touch!

What a week it’s been for my Maine Coons!

Last week I shared what a Naughty Cat Magellan was when he tried to eat all of the flowers in my craft room.

Then I shared the adventures of Tsunami and Magellan, the Mighty Squirrel Hunters.
