Hunter: Part 2 of Guy Erma And The Son Of Empire by Sally Ann Melia

Hunter - Guy Erma Pt 2

Hunter: Part 2 of Guy Erma And The Son Of Empire – Book Review

Hunter: Part 2 of Guy Erma And The Son Of Empire is the follow-up to the exciting Young Adult / Science Fiction series that Sally Ann Melia first introduced in Kidnap. For those of you who are familiar with that story, I’m excited to share that Hunter is every bit as exciting as – if not more exciting – than the first book!

The first thing you need to know about Hunter is that this is not a standalone book. If you are new to the series, you will want to read this complex tale from the start to fully understand the political climate in which this novel takes place and the history of Teodor, Guy Erma, and all of the other characters in this book. The author has created a fascinating world filled with exciting characters with agendas of their own. It’s hard to know who you can trust as you read this book, which puts you right in the midst of the action.

Hunter takes place on Day 2 of Prince Teodor’s kidnapping by vicious Battle Borgs of Dome – heroic men who have died and been reincarnated as cyborgs. Although they are supposed to protect Teodor, in actuality, they are controlled by those who know the secret code words!

Prince Teodor is kidnapped because of one man’s thirst for power. His mother recognizes this and must determine how to walk the fine line between succumbing to her blackmailer’s evil plans – keeping her son alive – and coming up with a plan of her own to find and rescue him. In the process, she enlists the aid of Zaracan warrior Karl Valvanchi.

Guy Erma – the parentless boy who wants nothing more to be a member of the Dome Elite – has finally been offered a chance to fight for his spot, but who will his opponent be – and will the cost ultimately be more than he bargained for?

Hunter is an exciting, action-filled book that advances the storyline and leaves readers eager to continue the adventure in the finale to the series – Exile. The black and white illustrations scattered throughout the paperback version of the book are a nice bonus.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
