Glory Days – Book Review

When you need a word of encouragement in your life, is there someone that you can count on to whisper words of inspiration and truth into your spirit?

If not, let me introduce you to best-selling author Max Lucado – a man that 120 million readers have turned to in their moments of need. I’ve been reading his books ever since I became a Christian and during that time, his books have never failed to live up to my expectations.

On September 15, Max releases his latest book – Glory Days: Living our Promised Land Life Now – and I highly recommend this book to you!

I was fortunate enough to receive an Advance Reader’ s Copy and this book contains a message we all need to hear and take to heart!

The world tells us our best days are behind us. Our culture celebrates youth and past achievements. Glory Days tells us our best days lie ahead.

Sometimes the challenge is just too much. You want to keep up. You try. It’s not that you don’t. You just run out of fight. Life has a way of taking the life out of us.

The book of Joshua is in the Bible for such seasons. It dares us to believe our best days are ahead of us. God has a Promised Land for us to take.

In Glory Days, Max Lucado walks us through the book of Joshua – using Egypt, the desert, and Canaan to metaphorically represent periods in our spiritual lives – to help move us out of the desert areas where many Christians languish, on to the Promised Land that awaits each of us.

Glory Days is an eye-opening book that will challenge you to evaluate where you are in your spiritual life and will offer you the grace, motivation, and perhaps the nudge you need to move out of your comfort zone and to keep moving towards the destination God is directing you to.

You and your Promised Land Life.
It is yours for the taking.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
