Intersect – DVD Review
If you are looking for a non-traditional resource to help you spark spiritual conversations with the people in your life who don’t currently have a relationship with God, than you may be interested in Intersect – Where Your Story And God’s Converge!
Intersect is a five-week, small group resource that’s designed to generate meaningful conversations with you and your friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members about the things that are important in life.
The 30-minute Intersect DVD contains 5 brief vignettes featuring 5 different Christ-followers who share personal stories about the following topics:
- Expectations
- Rest
- Disappointment
- Trust
- Control
In each story, the individual shares about a situation in their life that caused them to re-examine the role that God should play in their lives.
Here’s an actual clip of one of the stories from the DVD:
As you can see, this DVD does exactly what it sets out to do – it provides a non-intimidating resource for small group leaders who are trying to reach out to non-believers and initiate conversations in spiritual things. A study guide containing thought-provoking questions and Scriptures is also included as part of the package.
While I like the concept behind the DVD and thought the cinematography was lovely, the videos are very short (something to keep in mind for meeting planning purposes). Also, the material on the video is theologically light. This means that it will be perfect for some groups and group leaders but others may find it unsatisfying. Plan your group usage accordingly.
If you are looking for a quality DVD where brevity is a plus and a resource that will truly not intimidate the people you are trying to reach – than Intersect is a product to consider!
I rate this DVD 3 out of 5 stars.
