99 Prayers For Children – Book Review

When you were a child, do you remember learning any special prayers that helped you to grow in confidence and understanding as you learned how to talk to God?

As a parent, could you use some creative ideas for teaching your children to pray?

In 99 Prayers For Children, Juliet David has compiled a wonderful resource of classic and contemporary prayers – beautifully illustrated by Elina Ellis – to help draw your child closer to God!

99 Prayers For Children opens with a presentation page that makes this perfect for gift-giving.

The Contents categorizes the prayers into sections such as Thank You God, Mealtimes, Bedtime, and Special Days.

The prayers themselves are reminiscent of nursery rhymes – catchy, rhythmic, bright – easy to remember and fun to recite for the young audience for which its intended.

The sources are diverse, including song, verse, traditional prayer – and, of course, Scripture itself!

One of my favorite prayers in the book is in the While We Sleep section:

I will not fear,
For God is near.
Through the dark night,
As in the light,

And while I sleep,
Safe watch does keep.
Why should I fear,
When God is near?

As I was reading the sweet, heartfelt prayers in 99 Prayers For Children, the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:2-4 came to mind:

Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.

Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

99 Prayers For Children is a wonderful gift to give to any child – and the perfect companion book to 99 Stories From The Bible.

But 99 Prayers For Children also reminds us of our need to set our worries aside each day and approach God with the innocence and simple faith of a child.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

    7) be prepared to see this trend catch on soon,
as marketers start abandoning YouTube as an unneeded, and increasingly ineffective, center man when the objective gets your
message seen by the qualified customers.
