Cleveland Amory, The Cat Who Came For Christmas

Living Nativity

This week, we set up the Nativity in our home. We weren’t able to put out the stable because of space constraints, but we made the best use of the space we had.

Modern Day Nativity Scene

In place of the stable, however, we’ve enjoyed the wonders of a living Nativity, as Magellan insists on being a part of the scene!

Modern Day Nativity Scene 2

Magellan is quite fascinated by each of the various pieces. His favorites are the angel (could it be the angel sings to him?) and the Star Of Bethlehem that hangs from the wreath above the Nativity scene!

2015 Nativity Scene

As I watch Magellan enjoy the Nativity scene, I am reminded how animals played an instrumental part in “The First Noel” and thankful for Magellan – my very special Christmas kitten!

Hi Ramona! I received my book! Can’t wait to read it. 🙂

So, what’s happened since last week? Let’s see…my daughter had her second knee surgery done, then, the next day, hubby and I drove to another state to get a puppy….yep, a 12 week old bundle of pure love! 🙂 We just adore him. The cats are steering clear mostly. Lady gets within inches of him. Oh, his name is Liam. Short for Mr. Fitwilliam Darcy. Liam just sits and wags his tail. He wants to play with them so badly but is very patient! 🙂

    We’re in love.

But I’ll ask for prayers for my daughter. She has an infection in her knee and is on 2 antibiotics. Pray they start to work, She’s been through so much already.

Anyway, I hope you’re having a wonderful Christmas season. 🙂 Love your living nativity! 🙂

  11. Magellan is such a well behaved boy! My cat would play with all the Nativity pieces. I have a very minimalist Christmas decor since my cat is very playful and curious and he would certainly destroy some smaller pieces.

I am amazed by how relatively GOOD he has been around all of our Christmas stuff!
Except for a few swats here and there, he is much more interested in pulling out all of extra stiff we’ve stored in “his” cabinets!

  12. Cutest Nativity scene ever! Adorable!

  13. So sweet! I have a lovely Nativity… in storage… My cats make it all but impossible to put it out! Mia eats the hay, Jazmine steals the characters, and Kizmet knocks everything on the floor! Oh well… the spirit of Christmas remains in my heart!

How funny! Last year we had a very tiny set out that Magellan was also fascinated with and I had another cat who also liked to sleep in the middle of the Nativity!

what a sweet cat! Aren’t you lucky

  17. Robin says:

I think that Magellan makes a purrfect addition to your manger scene. I’m sure there really were cats there at Jesus’ birth as they were very common in that area (and still are). Very cute! Merry Christmas!

  18. Rorybore says:

Ahh yes, I remember very clearly how the special Christmas cat lead the way to the manger birth. LOL
He just wants to be part of the holiday 🙂
Also, I am convinced that cats DO see angels, because I do not want to consider any other possibility when I spy our cat sitting in a corner staring up at the ceiling for hours. It’s angels!!

  19. Too cute! Your kitty looks so happy to be included!! My cats like to swat things around so we use a pretty heavy duty nativity set. 😉

  20. Charlotte says:

This made me smile! The of, the ass and the pussy cat! 🙂 x
