What’s New At The Book Nook?

As of January 2016, The Book Nook has moved to a monthly schedule! The Book Nook opens on the first Friday of the month and remains open all month, until the next party starts!

Book Of The Month – Redeemed: A Women’s Lent Study From Sacred Holidays by Becky Kiser

Redeemed

This year, the season of Lent starts early. If you’re looking for a unique study to lead you through Lent and into Easter, may I suggest the Redeemed – A Women’s Lent Study From Sacred Holidays by Becky Kiser?

Redeemed is unlike any study I’ve ever seen. It’s a large workbook that’s designed to be experienced in a group or community setting but can also be completed on your own. If you’re doig the study, you’re invited to participate with the Sacred Holidays community across social media via @SacredHolidays and #SacredHolidays!

There are several things that I like about this study:

  • First, it’s filled with creative exercises! There are photography challenges and journaling prompts. There are pages to color. There are activities to help you connect with the tradition of Lent.

  • Second, there are discussion prompts that help you to share your story and to connect you to the heart of Jesus. This isn’t a traditional Bible study where you’ll be pouring over passages or digging through concordances trying to fill yourself with head knowledge. Rather, this is a chance to reflect on Scripture and how it connects to our life – to pause and to hear what God is trying to say to you, right hear and right now.

Redeemed is available from Sacred Holidays, who also offers a Men’s Lent Study for the guys in your life!

Disclosure: I am a member of the Women’s Lent Launch Team for Sacred Holidays. I received a copy of the study for review purposes. However, the opinions I’ve shared with you are entirely my own.

Thanks for your feedback Regina! I have another fabulous book on Lent that I will be reviewing very soon as well – very different from this one but equally amazing – watch for it! 🙂

  2. Suzie says:

Thank you for the book party. I have a new book coming up soon. Last book I did was in Nov so I shared that but can’t wait to share the new book I am reading when done!

Thank you for sharing, this book-sturdy sounds like an interesting approach. Sometimes non-traditional bible studies are the ones that make a huge difference in the lives of the ones that we love.

  4. I thought some of your readers might be interested in my new project — a year-long study of Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life by Karen Armstrong. Thanks!

What a cool link party! Thanks so much for hosting. 🙂 Anything that introduces me to a new book… haha

Love all this feedback. I need to get in the mode of sharing books. Doing a lot of Bible studies, but need to start sharing.

  8. Michelle says:

Hi, I’m visiting from The Cozy Reading Spot.
I have visited before, but have been out of commission lately.
Have my computer back and pray it keeps working.
