Wordless Wednesday Party Featuring The Cat Ball Review & Giveaway

Magellan -Proud Cat Ball Owner

Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!

Magellan And Tsunami Review The Cat Ball

When was the last time that your cats discovered something so exciting and so wondrous in their home that it literally stopped them in their tracks and caused them to turn their heads in awe?

When was the last time your husband didn’t mind if your cats’ prized new possession resided in the middle of the living room floor – their favorite place to play – because it blended so beautifully with your décor?

If you and your cats have never experienced anything quite like I’m describing, you’ve probably never encountered The Cat Ball!

Magellan Sitting In Cat Ball

The Cat Ball is the coolest gift you could ever surprise your beloved cats with! It’s a fabulous place for your cats to sleep – and to play – and to let their imaginations run wild!

The creative genius behind the Cat Ball is Jennifer, a cat-loving costume designer who was hired in 2009 to design a soccer-ball shaped mascot costume for the Seattle Sounders. The prototype for that project served as the inspiration for the Cat Ball, which is available in a wide variety of unique designs in gorgeous fabrics, including the Original Cat Ball, the Cat Canoe and the whimsical Shark Cat Ball Cat Bed!

My Cats Discover The Cat Ball

Tsunami and Magellan have been totally obsessed with their beautiful Cat Ball In Ivory and Blue Paisley Fabric from the moment they first discovered it! Truth be told, Magellan has been rather possessive of it – he likes to think of this Cat Ball as his very own – so if you have multiple cats in your household, you might want to consider placing multiple Cat Balls in different parts of your home in order to keep the peace!

Magellan loves to run in and out of it (the Cat Ball is designed with one 10” inch opening and one 6” inch opening that he can easily fit through) and to reach through the holes to hunt for his toys. He also likes to roll around in it during play time.

Tsunami in the Cat Ball

Tsunami likes to lay in it every chance he gets. He’d love to spend more time in it if his jealous little brother didn’t pounce on his head every time he saw Tsunami inside of it! In Tsunami’s more peaceful moments – whenever Magellan is not around – he enjoys playing peek-a-boo with us from inside of his new Cat Ball!

When they are done playing, Magellan and Tsunami love having a safe and cozy place to relax! The six-paneled hexagonal design is 17” inches in diameter and 16”inches in height. It’s not only perfectly sized for your cats, large and small, but rumor has it that many a household dog has been found trying to transform your feline’s favorite Cat Ball into a Doggie Den of their own!

Magellan Lounging In His Cat Ball

The Cat Ball is the perfect resting spot, napping spot, relaxing spot, and recreation spot for your cherished cats (and even your darling little dogs) – all in one! As you can see, your cats will swell with pride when you present them with a Cat Ball of their very own!

Best of all, Jennifer is willing to spread Cat Ball love to your cats wherever they live – inside or outside of the United States, all around the globe – so don’t hesitate to visit the Cat Ball Website to learn more about this fabulous product AND enter our GIVEAWAY for a chance to win a Cat Bed of your very own for your favorite feline!

  1. Well now that Cat Ball looks interesting, Im not sure what my cats would do with it. I bought them both covered cat beds and they dont use them. They did in the beginning but then stopped, I dont know whats up with that.

Glad to see Magellan is loving the ball, its really cool!

    • Hi Karren,

I haven’t had much success with traditional cat beds either but you should enter the giveaway and try this out for yourself!
This is not like any other product we have seen before and our cats are fascinated by it!
One of the things that is so cool about it is that the hexagonal shape moves with them if they are active –
So Magellan likes to play with it –
But it also comfortably conforms to their shape when they want to relax (think hammock!) –
And the quilted cotton fabric is soft and comfortable to curl up in!

  2. It’s been a while since I was here. So happy to visit today & be back. Blessings & hugs!

  3. Ellen Pilch says:

Those are great! I looked at their website and the shark one is really cool.

  4. Carol says:

I know several kitties who would love a cat ball!

    • Aren’t these the most amazing toys and beds you ever did see?
Feel free to enter the giveaway and surprise one of those kitties with a wonderful Cat Ball of their very own! 🙂

  5. stevebethere says:

Aww! they are the cutest photos ever heheh!

    Have a catballtastic day 🙂

  6. Jeanna says:

I’ve had a guest cat for a week now and he’s only interested in a scratch pad/rolling ball and a piece of twine. That’s it, a whole bag of toys and nothing else grabs him. Your cats are pretty and funny. Great photos.

    • Thanks Jeanna! I know what you mean about cats being hard to please – my boys have their share of toys they sniff at too.
That’s what’s so great about the Cat Ball – it is apparently irresistible to them! 🙂

  7. Karen W says:

Awww so cute. Are you sure the cat isn’t included? JK

  8. That’s a really cute ball for the kitty. He really enjoys being in it.

  9. Piranha Banana says:

Lucky! I would love a cat ball like that… seems like a nice place for a nap.

    • (Whispering to you, Piranha Banana – I knew there’d be a few doggies who’d be eyeing the Cat Ball and trying to figure out how to transform it into a delightful Doggie Den of your very own, lol… mum’s the word – from what I hear, you aren’t the first!)

  10. Summer says:

That does look like an awesome bed!

  11. That cat ball looks like the purrfect toy for Megallan and Tsunami. Very cute pictures. Pawkisses for a Happy Day 🙂 <3

  12. That looks really fun! Can’t enter though because we live in the UK.

    Purrs xx
    Athena and Marie

    • I’m so sorry that this giveaway isn’t available to my beloved UK readers Athena,
But Jennifer says she is preparing a special offer for Create With Joy readers in the weeks to come –
Hopefully this will interest my International friends who would love a Cat Ball!

  13. Brenda Penton says:

I love them! My youngest one, Molly, would be the one to take this over. I’d pick the The Cat Ball in Grey Weave Fabric.

  14. meowmeowmans says:

The Cat Ball looks so cool! Like Magellan, we are pretty sure Zoe and Gracie would use it to hunt for their toys through the holes. Of course, Tsunami’s suggestion of just relaxing in it sounds great, too. 🙂

Thanks for hosting, and for having a neat giveaway!

    Happy Wednesday!

    • Zoe and Gracie will have SO much fun hunting through the sides of the Cat Ball and then resting when they wear themselves out!
Have a fabulous week K and thanks for joining the fun!

  15. pam says:

    My cats would love that!!!

  16. Such a great item!! I know my kitty, Gizmo would love it!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  17. The cats are so adorable and the Cat-Ball looks purrrrr-fect for them! Thanks for hosting. Have a blessed week!

  18. Helen Fern says:

    Fun party! Thanks for hosting!

  19. Kitties Blue says:

The eight Kitties Blue love all different kinds of beds, and I am sure this would be no exception. I am sure a couple of them would try to get in together which would be quite amusing. Thanks for sharing the info and having the giveaway. Hugs, Janet

    • Hi Janet,

Wouldn’t it be fun to see your cats trying to squeeze into the Cat Ball at the same time –
Or perhaps through different openings –
Sort of like humans trying to go through the same doorway at once!
Best of luck to you – you need several of these to go round! 🙂

  20. I would love to win one of those cat balls for my cat, but I don’t live in the US 🙁

    • Hi Rosa,
Do you live in Canada? If so, you are eligible to enter the giveaway as well!
If not, Jennifer says she will be preparing a special offer for Create With Joy readers in the weeks to come
So hopefully, those who did not win and would like a Cat Ball and those who live abroad can take advantage of special savings.
I will keep you posted! 🙂

  21. Such beautiful kitty photos you’ve shared today. I was hard pressed to pick just one cat ball, but I think I’d choose the mimi cat ball so my littlest one can have a place to snuggle in when she’s not purring on our laps. Thank you for the chance!

  22. suzanne says:

I like The Cat Ball Cat Bed a Bohemian Pet Bed in Brown and Black Batik.

  23. Magellan and Tsunami look like they’re having a ball with the cat ball! 🙂
    They are puurrfect models!
My kitty Oliver would adore this. He loves to be under things like a chair or a bed. In the ball he’d be able to see out. I can see him playing and rolling around in it. (A little catnip might help!)
The shark ball gave me a laugh.
    (I’m entering! Thanks!)

    • Isn’t the shark ball wonderful?
Oliver sounds just like Magellan, who loves playing around “obstacles” – so the Cat Ball would be perfect for him!
Thanks for entering – best of luck to you!

  24. Cats and toys! I’m sure your cats love this and it looks like fun. 🙂 Thanks for hosting the mid-week fun!

    National D-Day Memorial Part 2

  25. Tea says:

My cat loves toys. Would love a Cat ball.

  26. Oh the Cat Ball sure looks like fun, if only I was a Cat… LOL
Have a great rest of the week!

  27. Anne says:

I enjoyed this delightful post. The shark ball is unique and would be great.

  28. Sylvia says:

    What a lovely little cat-nest! 😀

  29. SarahJ says:

Wow! That was a tough choice lol I’m in love with these cat balls and I know my cat would be too. The Blue Whale and Shark are hilarious, but I think to slightly blend in with the furniture I would choose The Cat Ball a Cave Style Cat Bed made in Grey Calico Fabric Victorian Seeds. Also, the expression on that cat’s face is priceless! Frizzabella says thanks for the chance 🙂

  30. Shadow says:

That looks like the purrrRRRrrrfect hidey hole.

    Sarah and Shadow

  31. Jean Dion says:

I love the shark ball, too! And I know my cats would love it. Popoki, in particular, is a fan of cave-like spaces. But she hates to feel trapped. The two-hole strategy would thrill her!

Jean from Welcome to the Menagerie

    • I think that is one of the design features that makes the Cat Ball so special –
the fact that there ARE two holes on both sides so your cat never feels trapped,
and can always get a sense of what’s going on around them while enjoying the security the “cave” provides!
Popoki would love The Cat Ball – and how could you not love the Shark Ball! 🙂

  32. Mandy says:

Your cat looks super happy in the cat ball! 🙂

    • Isn’t it amazing how happy a cat gets when they get something special of their very own –
you can tell by how they look and carry themselves that they just “know” it is theirs!
Yes, Magellan and Tsunami are very happy boys!

  33. Robin says:

These are so cool! It looks like Tsunami and Magellan are really happy with their Cat Ball bed. I like both the shark bed and the leopard spotted beds. It is so hard to choose!

    • I know what you mean Robin – there are SO many great Cat Ball beds to choose from!
Have fun exploring and playing – like women, cats can always change their minds! 🙂

  34. Oh man! Our cats would go crazy with that cat ball! They’d definitely play with it and sleep in it. Heck, the puppy would probably play with it and sleep in it, too! He and one of our Calicos, Shorty, are best buds and curl up together all the time. I bet they’d both try to squeeze in that! 🙂

Mario Kart Go; Mini Trump Wall; Art is Necessary – RTT and WW Double Duty

    • I would LOVE to see pictures of Shorty and your puppy napping in their Cat Ball –
That would be an awesome Wordless Wednesday post!
So glad to see you at today’s party Stacy – hope you, Princess Nagger, and the rest of your family are well!

  35. Looks like those two had a wonderful time.

  36. I wish theres a ball like that for humans cuz it looks fun and so comfy!

    • I know – I’ve had that same thought myself.
Back to the design studio Jennifer – your fans have spoken! 🙂

      • Jennifer says:

That’s funny! The Cat Ball started off as a prototype for a human sized costume!

      • That’s right – the soccer mascot costume! Of course, wearing one isn’t quite the same as hanging out or playing in one.
Maybe if you supersize them a bit you could start a line of kiddie sized geodome playhomes…

I was just browsing the designs and noticed the Blue Whale Cat Ball next to the Shark. I LOVE that one (and think cats and kittens would too, with all of the fringe!) Probably doesn’t get the attention it should cause everyone lands on the Shark but that one’s adorable too! 🙂

  37. Nina says:

Happy Wordless Wednesday greetings from sunny Copenhagen 🙂

  38. Mary Hill says:

I love these catballs. I love the rainbow kitty bed. Thank you for introducing this product.

  39. But I WANTS the cat! lol!

  40. There is NO DOUBT that I would need that Shark Week Shark BED! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I almost fell off my chair! lol. My favorite week and favorite cat together in one sweet ball bed. lol. That one is for me. I mean Aurora. Both of us. lol

  41. That is so cool. I think my dogs would enjoy catching some zzz’s in the Ball. ♥

  42. Cindy says:

I like The Cat Ball® Cat Bed in Leopard Cotton Fabric

  43. Michelle says:

Our cat would probably play with it.
Our indoor cat loves to bop our other cat playfully on the head.
We only have one cat that stays inside all the time.
The other goes in and out.
We did have 3 cats. Sadly one of our older cats passed away earlier this year.
After he passed away the other 2 changed in their moods.
The one cat now mostly stays outside and the other now gets on our bed with us.
When Smokey was here they always had to be where Smokey was and our bed was reserved for Smokey.
We went through some withdrawals ourselves.
We would enter a room expecting to see Smokey only to remember he is no longer with us.

    Thank you for the giveaway.

    • I’m sorry for your loss Michelle – yes, it really does impact everyone, cats included.
Magellan also likes to bop Tsunami on the head (we think it’s rather rude – he thinks it’s lots of fun!)
Best of luck to you – I’m sure that something as wonderful as a Cat Ball would help to ease their transition!

  44. speedyrabbit says:

Mum says I’m not aloud things like that cause I chew….hehehe,xx Speedy

  45. I saw these at Blogpaws and they are cozy and pack flat. The shark is fun!

  46. This is a fab idea one that sure could take off in this Palace, especially if I got a mouse in there with me. purrs ERin

  47. The Cat Ball should go to no one but us! The reason is: we like to pounce and the cat ball would be purrrfect. One of us will hide in it and the other will pounce. I can’t wait! Our incredibly talented & creative human, Carol, says she will take inspirational photos of us during this important activity and send you the results! – Love, Peaches & Paprika, Calico Cats of Distinction

    • Carol, Peaches and Paprika, thanks for the smile – you’ve got me convinced – now it’s up to Mr. Rafflecopter!
Best of luck to you and should you win, I definitely want to see those photos! 🙂

  48. Great selfies – and that ball looks like something Mr. M & Purrseidon would both adore! Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.

  49. Those cat balls look just pawesome! And so much fun.
