Ameriguns – Audible Book Review

Ameriguns by Scott King – Audible Book Review

Every time you turn on the news, it seems that another crazed gunman is on the loose and another senseless mass shooting has occurred. As horrifying as it is to hear about these events, one can only imagine how much worse it is to become a part of the evening headlines.

That’s the nightmare that Scott King so realistically brings to life in Ameriguns – a fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping thriller that also touches upon gun laws, gun reform and the political process in our country.

Ameriguns tells the story of Nathaniel Rider – an FBI Agent whose descent into horror begins when he receives a phone call from his sister-in-law Lori, who is under siege at a DC wedding that she and her husband, David, are attending. Concerned for their safety, Nathaniel calls 911 then rushes to the scene to find and rescue his family. The rescue doesn’t quite go the way that Nathaniel planned, however, and he is wounded in more ways than one by the events of the day.

Now – months later – Nathaniel finds himself investigating a new group of gunmen – the Ameriguns – who are not only bent on spreading terror across Washington, D.C., but who kill the US Secretary of State at a high-level political party!

The investigation becomes more personal and the stakes higher than Nathaniel could ever imagine when – through a shocking twist of events – he realizes that someone is trying to frame him as the mastermind behind the group and he suddenly finds himself the primary suspect in the FBI’s murder investigation!

How will Nathaniel be able to prove his innocence when he can no longer trust his friends or co-workers and finds himself the target of an FBI manhunt? What roles do a celebrity late-night television host and a gun-yielding Senator from Texas play in his fate?

If you love political thrillers and mysteries that will keep you guessing at every delicious twist and turn of the plot, then add Ameriguns to your must-read or must-listen to list!

I had the pleasure of listening to the Audible version of Ameriguns and highly recommend the narrated version by Eric Michael Summerer to you! Eric was a joy to listen to – I was drawn into the story from the moment he started speaking and felt like I was listening to one of my favorite television shows. Eric’s voice was so versatile, I forgot I was listening to one man performing all of the parts!

One additional bonus: At the end of the Audible version of Ameriguns you’ll receive Ameriguns: Origins – an exclusive prequel that chronicles the events leading up to the events in Ameriguns from the true mastermind’s perspective. This bonus was a nice surprise and further highlights the author’s versatility and talent as a writer.

I rate this audiobook 5 out of 5 stars.

Oh my goodness, I bet a story like this in an audible version had to have you on the edge of your seat. Just to think that someone you know would be under fire at a wedding no less would make my heart skip a beat I know. I like those kind of stories that put you on the edge of your seat. Thanks for sharing.
