Many years ago, when I first learned that the food that my family and I ate could make a huge difference in how we felt and that many of the foods that we normally ingested as part of a traditional American diet were, in fact, more harmful than healthy, it was difficult to find good, viable alternatives to replace a traditional diet.

Thankfully, we live in more enlightened times. For example, authors like Alissa Segersten and Tom Malterre are showing us how easy it can be to ditch processed foods and to make healthier choices in their latest cookbook, Nourishing Meals: 365 Whole Foods, Allergy-Free Recipes For Healing Your Family One Meal At A Time.
