If you’re interested in improving your health and looking for a book that explains cutting-edge research in ways that you can easily apply to your life, then Darin Olien’s SuperLife: The 5 Simple Fixes That Will Make You Healthy, Fit, And Eternally Awesome will be of interest to you!
SuperLife is based on the premise that there are five factors in our lives that control whether we are healthy or disease-ridden:
- Nutrition
- Hydration
- Oxygenation
- Alkalization
- Detoxification
Darin believes that these five life forces impact every aspect of our health, and that once we begin to optimize them according to their needs, we begin to improve and sustain our health.
What I like about SuperLife is that Darin provides a lot of substantiation for his approach, but he also provides “simple to do lists” at the end of each chapter that make it easy to apply the salient points.
For those of us who are especially interested in eating healthier and applying his tips, the back section of the book is called “The Really Useful Section” and is filled with invaluable resources that make this book worth owning in and of itself!
SuperLife is filled with lots of helpful information. I consider the book a keeper!

About Darin Olien
Darin Olien is an exotic superfood hunter, supplement formulator, environmental activist, and widely recognized authority on nutrition and natural health. He partnered with the fitness company Beachbody to formulate the wildly popular whole-food supplement Shakeology and the comprehensive plant-based Ultimate Reset 21-day detoxification program. He also sits on the board of Raincatcher.org, a nonprofit dedicated to providing clean drinking water. Sounds like a good read. I like the to-do lists that you mentioned at the ends of the chapters. There is no point in reading a self-help book if you can’t put your newfound information into action. Thanks for the recommendation.

I am such a list person, so that part of the book really appeals to me. I work well with lists and use them all the time. I don’t know that I’d be able to get through a day without a list! LOL
