Blue Buffalo Wildenerness Pate Variety Pack #ChewyInfluencer Review
Every once in a blue moon, I – Magellan, Explorer Extraordinare – like to go trekking through the wildenerness of my tri-level forest to see what wonders I can find.
Lo and behold – this morning I came across a new source of food that I have never seen before – enough to feed my brother and I for a dozen days! The food came wrapped in a colorful box, making it feel like Christmas in July!
Turns out, our friends at Chewy.com had sent us a Blue Buffalo Wilderness Pate Variety Pack Duck, Chicken & Salmon Grain-Free Cat Food Tray – how sweet is that! I couldn’t wait to break into the box of Blue Buffalo Wilderness to see what I could find.
Avid label reader that I am, here’s what the marketing folks have to say about the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Pate Variety Pack:
Inspired by the lynx – a carnivore who thrives on meat – this holistic and natural, protein-rich variety pack features only real ingredients – never any chicken or poultry by-product meals – and is great for allergies as it doesn’t contain grains, corn, wheat, soy, or artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. The variety pack features Chicken, Duck and Salmon flavors in pate form that will keep your cat enticed and satisfied!
Of course, Tsunami and I – the Royal Taste Testers for Chewy.com – are the ultimate arbiters of what’s good and what’s not (at least in this household!), and we were ready to sample the food.
Never let it be said that I am not the sweetest of kitties. I know that Chicken is Tsunami’s favorite thing to eat so – magnanimous brother that I am, I hunted a Chicken for my brother’s dining pleasure, than gave my staff the look that says, “I’m hungry – pluck the chicken and feed us NOW!”
The Royal Chef complied. Soon, she was preparing a chicken feast and provding samples for our approval!
Before long, the table was set and our feast was served.
Now, the Blue Buffalo Wilderness Chicken Pate wasn’t bad – we both ate several bites of our food – but it probably wasn’t our favorite either. Perhaps it was the scorching heat in the palace that day (we’ve been experiencing record highs where we live, and dining in fur coats with no air conditioning in the heat is no fun!) So, it’s possible our appetites were just a little off.
But, neither one of us finished our meals (which always makes the Royal Chef so sad – I guess it’s a lot of work plucking those chickens!)
In any event, she faithfully scooped our untouched portion back into the royal can for a revisit when it’s a little cooler to see if our appetites have improved – and she’ll be serving us Duck and Salmon at a future date – but based on our initial response we’d probably give this a 3 out of 5 – food we would eat, but not our first choice on the menu.
Disclosure: Magellan and Tsunami received a free sample of this product from Chewy.com as members of the #ChewyInfluencer Network. The opinions we’ve shared reflect our personal experience with this product. We are also Chewy.com Autoship customers and we highly recommend their service to you!

Thanks for your feedback Karren – today’s a cooler day – maybe they will have better appetites today and like the Wilderness Salmon canned food a little better! 🙂
Magellan, you and Tsunami are really great at taste-testing these foods. And your Royal Chef is so dedicated! 🙂
Happy Wednesday to you all, friends. Thank you for hosting!
Cute pictures. Love them all. <3
Happy Wednesday!
As usual, your kitties are looking beautiful and discerning in their appraisal of the paté! I’m glad they tried this new entrée and didn’t just turn up their sweet noses outright. 😉 They are sooo pretty I just want to pick them up and squish them in a big hug!!! I love the tufts on their ears, btw.
Hope you are having a good week so far,
Barb 🙂
They seem to like it 😉 Am I right

Maybe you’ll like the duck and salmon better!

It must be quite the chore to groom those two gorgeous kitties.
Such handsome fellas!!! Congratulations on the treasure you found on your wilderness hunt! 🙂
I didn’t realize that these foods were grain free! That is really pawsome. The two of you seem to really enjoy Blue Wilderness. Manna and Dexter may have to try it some time. 🙂
Christmas in July?! How exciting! The D-O-G in my household loves the Blue Wilderness dog kibble she always gets at meal times. Unfortunately I have food allergies so am on a limited diet, but maybe your chef could talk to mine about plucking a chicken?! Thanks for sharing the information. Tee hee hee.
I think you two are spoiled, you know that?
Happy Sunday Selfie!!

Sorry to hear that it has been so hot, and as such I can’t blame you for not being too fussed about your food, I know I go off mice when it’s hot.
Purrs.

Can’t always love the foodables,xx Speedy
I can tell the cats could hardly contain themselves. How did you manage to get the can open fast enough?!
Magellan looks so like my deceased cat Nala in the face- she had no white. Looks like good food.
