Unseen: The Gift Of Being Hidden In A World That Loves To Be Noticed
We live in a culture that conveys the idea that to be relevant, you have to be seen and heard. Nothing could be further from the truth. Often it is the unsung heroes among us – people who live ordinary lives by societal standards – who make the biggest impact in our lives and the lives of everyone we know. There is a simple beauty and freedom that comes with leading quiet lives of simplicity where we focus on finding and living out God’s will.
If this message resonates with you – if you long to make a difference in the seemingly ordinary and invisible place that God has called you to be – then Unseen: The Gift Of Being Hidden In A World That Loves To Be Noticed by Sara Hagerty is a book that you must read. Sara is a natural-born storyteller who weaves pieces of her life with stories from the Bible and shares lessons that can lead to aha moments of transformation.
Her stories have a way of getting under your skin.
For instance, as I was reading Uncovered – a chapter on Becoming Vulnerable – she shared a story of a stranger whose behavior she was judging until she prayed and, in a way that only God can do, she learned the reason for her behavior and was able to view the women with compassion as a result. I recently experienced a similar encounter with the same type of affirmative shift in perspective.
Unlike some books that I pick up and don’t want to put down, Unseen is more of a slow read for me – a book that I want to read in pieces and stop and process – but it’s a good book full of precious gems you’ll want to savor along the way.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Atmospheric cover! Thanks for the post!
I’m reading this book right now — and I love it. Not the least of all is the gorgeous cover art! But the words inside definitely live up to it.
