The Psalms And Proverbs Devotional For Women – Book Review

Are there any books in the Bible that you just can’t seem to get enough of? The Wisdom books of Psalms and Proverbs are near the top of my list, so I was excited to come across The Psalms And Proverbs Devotional For Women, a daily devotional filled with 366 undated devotions written by various women and edited by Rhonda Harrington Kelley and Dorothy Kelley Peterson (one for every day of the year, including leap years!)

The opening pages of a book always set the tone for what’s to come, so I was thrilled to hear God speak to me through the authors in the introductory pages. Here are a few notes that I recorded in my personal journal:

Initiate genuine, heart-felt communication with the Lord, then establish your own pattern for sustaining that precious relationship.

Refuse to let earthly circumstances destroy your heavenly commitments.

Commit to knowing God’s Word and living it out in practical ways. Know that your commitment will thrive and blossom as you spend quality and quantity time in the presence of the Lord.

Each devotion in the The Psalms And Proverbs Devotional For Women contains a portion of Scripture (taken from either the NKJV, NIV, ESV, NASB, CSB or HCSB translations), a devotion, a daily prayer, and journaling space for personal reflection. The devotions are interesting and well-written, illuminating the verses with stories, word definitions, and other Scriptures.

The book itself is lovely – the brilliant embossed turquoise faux leather is a pleasure to behold and hold, with the design and color scheme carrying on throughout the book!

If you want to do an in-depth study of Psalms and Proverbs or read through those books this year, than The Psalms And Proverbs Devotional For Women is the perfect book to accompany you on your spiritual journey!
