Drinkwell Stainless Multi-Pet Pet Fountain #ChewyInfluencer Review
What is your biggest concern as a pet parent? As Mom to Tsunami and Magellan, my two majestic Maine Coon Cats, I am always worried about them being hydrated and getting enough water to drink. I have read that a cat’s body is made up of 80% water (compared to 60% in humans), yet cats have a low thirst drive, making it challenging for them to stay completely hydrated under optimal conditions.
Ideally, cats and dogs should drink a minimum of one ounce water per pound of body weight per day. If you have a active cat – live in a particularly hot climate like we do – or your cat has a health condition, their need for water may increase.
Most pet owners make it a point to provide their cats with a fresh bowl of water at mealtimes – but as the water sits out between meals, it becomes as appealing to them as a glass of water sitting out for long periods of time would be to us humans!
How can you get your cats to drink more water? Many cats (including ours) love drinking fresh running water. For instance, Tsunami and Magellan have trained us to leave a faucet running for them at all times so that they can have access to clean, cold water whenever they like!
Perhaps a better alternative is to provide them with their own personal drinking fountain! Over the years, many of our cats (including Tsunami) have fallen in love with the wonderful line of pet fountains from Drinkwell – so we were thrilled when Chewy.com sent the Royal Taste Testers a brand new Drinkwell Stainless Multi-Pet Pet Fountain to put through the paces!
The Drinkwell Stainless Steel Multi-Pet Pet Fountain is designed to increase your dog’s and cat’s thirst drive by mirroring a natural water source instead of a stagnant bowl. This fountain holds one gallon of water and has a few cool features, including a free-falling, 360-degree access stream of fresh water, a receiving ramp and adjustable flow control that reduces spashing, and controls that let you determine how many streams of water your fountain will provide. You control the flow and sound of the water (the lowest flow is very quiet – the higher flow provides a waterfall sound and some splash outside of the fountain). Some assembly is required.
Magellan was not sure what to make of his new water fountain at first (Did a space craft land on the royal dining table? Where’s my Chewy treat!) and he eyed it for quite some time, but when since I did not seem alarmed by its presence, he eventually munched on some kibble, took a drink, then stretched out and posed for some pictures.
It took Tsunami quite some time to discover the fountain as he’s been hanging out in the basement where it’s cool during the heat of day, but his eyes lit up and he took a long drink out of it as soon as he encountered it! Magellan watched him with great interest (he’d hate to admit it, but he is often seen emulating everything his older brother does!)
The Drinkwell Stainless Multi-Pet Pet Fountain makes a great addition to your home – we give it four paws and two thumbs up at Create With Joy!

I actually worry a lot about this, especially with the heat we have been having. Such a cool little fountain
That looks like a great fountain. We have one, but it isn’t that nice.
What a wonderful message. Need to get that out. Thanks. Also, thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful rest of the week
That’s an awesome fountain! The pictures are awesome too! I wish we could have had one of those fountains for our Lucy kitty. She would have loved it.

I don’t know much about kitties, but what I do know all animals need water in the heat and we should all check on pets and even neighbors pets. Great Post my friend.. and have a great week!
We have a couple of different fountains and lots of bowls with fresh water, but we all like drinking from the stainless steel 360. It’s a great fountain. XOCK, angel Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, angel Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy and Sawyer
Mom wonders how I would do with a fountain. She has turned on the water faucet for me, but I haven’t been interested. Mom does change out my water bowl a few times a day, but I have to say it would be real nice to have cool fresh water all day long. Purrs.

I worry about this myself. Alice is very picky about her water. I try to keep fresh water in the bowl at all times. I would LOVE to have one of these fountains. May have to add it to the wishlist for my future windfall. lol

What a seriously cool idea, Ramona! It’s so important for cats to have a regular supply of fresh water, and this is the perfect solution! Sharing. Thank you so much for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link party. Hope to see you again next Monday! Have a lovely weekend!
Our cat cafe has one of this fountains. It is a splendid thing! 🙂
Ours home is small * Grin *
Have a good Sunday!
Great advice there, hydration beyond fluids in our wet food is so important. Fountains are great too, if you cats like them that is. Me, I dont, and have tried 4 so far from dear to cheap, and no good. I do go a bundle on having water mixed with my wet food though, and that sort of makes up I guess.

We had a water fountain, Tsunami, but I refused to drink out of it, but that wasn’t such a nice one as yours…maybe that was the problem 😀 COOL Pawkisses for a Happy Sunday 🙂 <3
I do think my Peke Yoda doesn’t drink enough when it is hot outside. He WILL however come in after a good walk and drink quite a bit. Our vet says that if I give him a little water in his dog food at mealtimes then he is probably hydrated, which I do. 🙂
Great idea with this fountain! I’ll pin to my Animal Friends board for you, thank you.
Hugs,
Barb 🙂
p.s. Coming over from the Create with Joy Monday party #342! 🙂
How strange! Glad it works.
I don’t think I’ve ever met a kitty that doesn’t like to drink from running water. Unfortunately, our kitty has some kidney issues going on that causes her to drink (and pee) incessantly.

I’m so sorry to hear that Lisa – I hope your kitty gets better soon!
My water bowl gets changed several times a day here. Fountains? Sure, for some. Mom and dad live the simple, minimal life, gadget-, toy- and all the latest-free. I’m not saying it works wonders for some. To each their own. Great blog, by the way.

We have a fountain – I would not be without it. This one looks amazing!!
