ESV Story Of Redemption Bible – Review

ESV Story Of Redemption Bible

ESV Story Of Redemption Bible: A Journey Through The Unfolding Promises Of God

Have you ever wanted to sit down and read the Bible from start to finish with the purpose of gaining a better understanding of who God is, what His unfolding plan for humanity is, and how your life might fit into His story? If so, then the ESV Story Of Redemption Bible: A Journey Through The Unfolding Promises Of God might be the perfect Bible for you!

This beautiful Bible is designed for your reading pleasure and appearance-wise, the hardcover edition looks and feels more like a classic edition of a bibliophile’s favorite edition of their favorite literary book. The jacket cover and the premium interior pages are a light cream color with black type and gold numbering throughout; the jacket cover, the black book cover, and the inside cover page are also highlighted with metallic gold embossing, giving this Bible a very elegant and classic look.

ESV Story Of Redemption Bible - Leather Spine

The ESV Story Of Redemption Bible is structured as a Reader’s Bible, using a single-column, paragraph format throughout, with the unique distinction of featuring 897 notes written by Pastor Greg Gilbert interspersed and offset right in the middle of the Bible text. These notes provide rich insights that seasoned Bible readers will enjoy, but they are also written in an inviting and educational style that newer Bible readers will understand!

Although the ESV Story Of Redemption Bible is neither a large-print nor a journaling Bible, its user-friendly typesetting and generous margin space makes it more readable than the 9.25-point Milo type (Bible text) and 8.5-point Milo type (notes) sounds. There is plenty of room (and even some totally blank pages) for note-taking as well!

As you explore its pages, you will find some really unique surprises awaiting you inside of the ESV Story Of Redemption Bible:

  • There are more than 80 maps, illustrations, and timelines throughout this Bible, courtesy of the very talented artist Peter Vorth.

  • Above the Introduction to each book, there is a unique Title Illustration that encapsulates an important concept found in that book. In the back of the Bible, you’ll find the key to the Title Illustrations, which provides a fascinating overview of each Book of the Bible and a great jumping off point for a mini-Bible study!

  • There are two Daily Reading Plans in the back of the book: the Suggested Reading Plan which follows the story of the Bible in chronological order as it unfolds across the Bible (this is the one I plan on using!) and the more traditional, Canonical Order Reading Plan (which takes you straight through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, in a year).

  • At the end of the book, there is a fold-out entitled the Story Of Redemption Timeline whicn shows you, in illustrated form, the key events that have occurred throughout Biblical history.

  • There is also a black ribbon marker to help you mark your place.

If you’re looking for a new Bible to read through this year, a good ESV Bible, or a gift for someone who has everything, consider picking up a copy of the ESV Story Of Redemption Bible today!

I rate this Bible 5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks Brian – I am looking forward to reading this – the ESV translation is very popular these days but one I am less familiar with – it’s always eye-opening to read Scripture with “fresh eyes”! 🙂
