The End Times Survival Guide by Mark Hitchcock – Book Review

Have you ever felt like we are living in a world that’s gone mad? Most days, we have to look very hard to find a headline that does not contain another story of the ever-encroaching darkness. The world at large seems angrier than ever, more confused about essential truths, and increasingly anxious and depressed. How are we, as Christians, supposed to survive living in these last days?

Mark Hitchcock provides these answers in his latest book, The End Times Survival Guide: Ten Biblical Strategies For Faith And Hope In These Uncertain Days.

If you are looking for an easy-to-read, user-friendly Christian living book that provides practical biblically-based instruction while strengthening your faith, than this book is it! Each of the book’s ten chapter’s focuses on key Bible verses and spiritual disciplines that will help you and your family resist the enemy and be a beacon of light during these difficult days!

For example, Chapter 1 – Use The 46 Defense, discusses how applying the “Philippians 4:6” prayer defense is our key to overcoming anxiety, worry, and stress.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7 NKJV

Chapter 6 – Do The Best Things In The Worst Times, discusses key themes found in the Epistles of Peter. This chapter highlights the four “Peter Principles” found in 1 Peter 4:7-11.

But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. – 1 Peter 4:7-11

The End Times Survival Guide contains great expository teaching, lots of contemporary stories and lots of great quotes – but above all else, it is a call to pray.

If you are ready to stop focusing on the things in the world that are troubling you and start applying biblical strategies that will bring vitality to your spiritual life, I recommend The End Times Survival Guide to you!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
