Keeping The Faith A Study In Jude

Keeping The Faith: A Study In Jude: Book Review– Book Review

Imagine the following scenario:

You are looking for an in-depth study that focuses on a single book of the Bible. However, due to scheduling constraints, you and your group can only devote 6 weeks or so to whatever Bible study you select.

Sound daunting?

Thankfully, Lianna Davis has addressed this need with her new book, Keeping The Faith: A Study In Jude!

Jude 1

Keeping The Faith is a 6-week study into the New Testament Book of Jude – one of the shortest books in the Bible! With only 1 chapter and 25 verses, Jude is a great book to study, not only because it is easy to read over and over throughout the course of the study, but because its major themes of contending for the faith, avoiding idolators and apostates, and building oneself up in the faith are as relevant today as they were when the book was originally written!

Keeping The Faith is a well-designed and well-organized Bible study, just as I’d expect a study from Moody Publishers to be. The book is divided into six weekly themes:

  • Keeping In Truth
  • Keeping in Grace
  • Keeping the Soul
  • Keeping the Spirit
  • Keeping the Body
  • He Is Able to Keep Us

Each week is organized into 5 daily studies where passages and themes are explored, study and reflection questions with plenty of spaces for journaling are provided, and lots of charts and supplemental resource material are provided, including the text of the Chicago Statement On Biblical Inerrancy!

Here is a sampling of the things you’ll learn as you complete this study:

  • Why Jude uses metaphors like waterless clouds and wild waves
  • What was going on in Jude’s time theologically and why it matters
  • Why the warning passages can be a deep comfort to the believer
  • How to appreciate new dimensions of your belonging in Christ

Keeping The Faith Book Quote

Jude is a book that I’ve read and studied on my own in the past, yet I found that Lianna’s exploration opened my eyes to many things in the text that I had not seen or considered before!

Keeping The Faith is a great Bible study for anyone who wants to explore the book of Jude in great depth or who is looking for a solid 6 week Bible study on an actual book of the Bible!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
