Friend Of The Week – Amy at A Day Of Small Things

Amy Kin - Spring Decorating

Have you ever stopped to think that “a day of small things equals a life of big happiness?” While these words may take on ever increasing significance in the days to come, they are a way of life and a personal philosophy for Amy Kin – the Annapolis-based Navy mom and blogger behind A Day Of Small Things!

Amy Kin - Spring Decorating 1

I’ve always admired Amy for her ability to create such a warm, comfortable environment for her family to live in. Amy is one of those people who have an eye for detail and a knack for finding the perfect decorative accent to bring any spot to life! For instance, in Lighten Up For Spring, Amy uses fresh flowers, birds and lambs, a handmade quilt, and gorgeous hues of green and blue to welcome Spring to her home. What a peaceful place to spend one’s days!

Amy - The Princess Bakes

One of the greatest joys in Amy’s life is her daughter, “the Princess”, a first-grader who was recently challenged at school to start a new family tradition. The Princess became enamored by the idea of creating a Doughnut Cake – a cake that tastes like a doughnut! Look at the pride and experience the Princess experienced while she was baking her new creation! Doesn’t the thought of a Doughnut Cake make your mouth water?

Making new friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Be sure to visit Amy this week, explore the creative ideas she’s shared on her blog, and congratulate her for being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy?

It looks as if the Princess is due for a visit from the tooth fairy. I was just trying to make things a little warmer and especially brighter for my mother today. I think those skills are so important, your followers have them in spades.
