The Traitor’s Pawn by Lisa Harris – Book Review
One of my favorite genres of fiction is romantic suspense because I enjoy being immersed in a thrilling plot and seeing how characters I grow to care about resolve the pre-existing and current tensions and conflicts that exist between them.
If stories like this speak to your heart – particularly stories where God and faith are woven into the theme – then The Traitor’s Pawn by Lisa Harris deserves your attention.
In this novel, FBI agent Jack Shannon comes to Texas to hunt a man who is selling encrypted government secrets to the Chinese, but unexpectedly finds himself involved in a shooting and kidnapping case involving his former love interest, a newly promoted Houston Police detective Aubrey Grayson and her mentor and surrogate father, a former Senator.
As the investigation develops, Jack and Aubrey soon find themselves in the midst of a very tangled and twisted web of intrigue where they not only discover that their cases overlap but they must also grapple with the question of what happens when your highly demanding jobs intersect with the unresolved issues of your past.
The Traitor’s Pawn is the perfect book to pick up when you’re looking for a bit of mystery and intrigue to engage your mind and a touch of romance to tug at your heart.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.
