Please Pray For Tsunami

Tsunami - Jan 18

Today, I’m in need of some joy. Our beloved Tsunami, who is now 13 and up until recently, had never missed a meal, has been physically declining over the past few months. While he is dispositionally just as sweet, friendly and happy as ever, our big hulk of a boy has been slowly losing weight and as of this morning, would not come downstairs for breakfast. He’s been resting peacefully outside of my office all morning and my husband has preparing me for the likelihood that we may have to wish him farewell far sooner than we ever would have imagined.

As you know, even the thought of this totally breaks my heart.

I’ve been trying to deny the signs but seeing him refuse to come to breakfast or eat his favorite food when I brought it to him this morning just broke my heart and I can’t stop crying. I know I have been blessed that he has been a part of our lives for so long and I know that it isn’t over until it’s over but when you love someone you are never prepared to say good-bye.

Even Magellan, who has been his rival for so many years, knows that all is not right and has been extra nice to him lately. He goes over to lick his brother’s head instead of giving him a jealous smack and no longer chases him away when he comes to share space with us.

So, please keep Tsunami and our family in your prayers.

Oh no, we’re all sending mega prayers to your dear Tsunami. Time for a Vet visit. Sometimes is something simple like congestion, if he can’t smell the food he won’t eat. Other times it’s more complex but here’s hoping it’s something treatable. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.

  2. Thanks so much for hosting! I’m linking up today with SPARKLERS AND FIREWORKS, TWENTY QUESTIONS FOR JUNE 2020, and I invite you to my UNLIMITED MONTHLY LINK PARTY, open until July 26.

Aw, poor thing. Our vet told us that was not a good sign either when our cat began skipping meals.

  4. We are praying for Tsunami and for your family’s worried heart. No matter how long we have with our fur kids, it is never, ever enough.

I will be praying for your sweet boy. Have you had his thyroid checked? A lot of times that is the cause and a pill can help. XO

  12. Naush says:

My heart goes out to Tsunami. I have a 14 year old as well. He has liver issues and an eye infection. Its heartbreaking, knowing that they are suffering and we cant do anything about it. But sometimes, they have a tummy upset and prefer to refuse meals and lick the wheat grass to improve their tummy infection. I really hope he recovers soon. Don’t loose hope so soon. Cats are resilient. He’ll pull through. In sha Allah.

  13. I’m so sorry to hear about Tsunami. It’s hard to lose a pet we have loved, especially for such a long time. Saying a prayer for him and your family this morning.

  14. Kitties Blue says:

We are so sorry to read about Tsunami. Have you tried an appetite stimulant. That is what we are doing with Mau. He has lost too much weight and decided he didn’t want to eat. The appetite stimulant has him eating. What does your vet say? We are sending lots of purrs and POTP, and Mom is sending prayers. Thank you all so much for your prayers (please keep them coming) and for all of your kind thoughts and suggestions. We are happy to report that after a very rough day yesterday, Tsunami began to eat again last night and then again today and he seems to be a little better today. If he can eat, we’re hoping that he can build up his strength. Today he jumped up on my desk to be with me so I consider that a good sign.

  18. meowmeowmans says:

Poor Tsunami! We’re praying for him, and for you, too, Ramona. We hope it turns out to be something treatable. Maybe you might need to use an appetite stimulant? Gracie, who is 20 now, gets a transdermal one each day. It seems to help. Anyway, like I wrote, we are praying, and will continue to do so. Peace to you.

  19. Sending prayers and postitive. Tsunami is one of my favorite cats in the world. I love the good signs. Will be thinking about him in my prayers.
