Goodbye July – Hello August!
It’s hard to believe that August is upon us, but for many of us, that’s good news! Did you know that more people are born in August than during any other month? According to the CDC, 9% of all US babies were born during August. If you were born in August, please let us know so that we can celebrate with you!
Thank you for your outpouring of love for Tsunami. This weekend, Tsunami returns to the vet for his first all-day appointment, where the vets will monitor him to determine what the first set of adjustments to his initial dosage of insulin should be. We also learned that E coli is the cause of his UTI, which means a second round of antibiotics for him. Being the sweet boy he is, he remains in relatively good spirits but is still unstable on his feet and unable to access all of the places he would normally jump to. We continue to pray for his healing and hope that you will too!
Have your summer vacation plans been disrupted due to Covid-19? If so, perhaps you would enjoy a few armchair adventures! Recently, Patrick Weseman of Adventures in Weseland visited Reno, Nevado. While he was there, he discovered that an organization called Artland had created an opportunity for local people in the community to show the world the essential part that art plays in our lives. The project is called Heart Town and trust me, you won’t want to miss a single photo!
Penny of Penny’s Vintage Home is another friend who’s on the move! Recently she visited Canton, Texas to visit her family. If you enjoy touring homes and seeing how people in different parts of the country live, be sure to visit Penny’s this week for some gorgeous, non-vintage home photos!
Of course, many of us are staying closer to home and are using our time to rest, catch up on projects and pursue new creative pastimes. Niky – the Iowa blogger behind The House On Silverado – has been making over her home office. For decorations, she decided to include a framed graphic of her home and to turn her blueprints into a framed, vintage scroll. Sound inspiring? Be sure to check out her posts for tips on how to make vintage art from home blueprints!
Staying connected with friends old and new, online and offline, are among life’s greatest pleasures. Please be sure to visit Patrick, Penny and Niky this week and congratulate them for being featured at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy!

That’s awful about the E-coli, poor Tsunami, we’re all sending purrs and prayers. Beautiful photos as always. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
I will continue to pray for your sweet boy. Thank you for hosting.
I did not know that about August birthdays! Ha! I have often been the only person in my circle – at work, church, family, etc that had an August birthday. Mine is Monday – August 3rd.
Take care of that kitty and have a great weekend!

I’m glad to hear that Tsunami is doing a little better. Praying the vet is able to adjust his meds so he does even better.
Continuing to send purrayers and Power of the Paw to Tsunami and all of his caretakers !
I can’t believe tomorrow is August!

Wow, thanks for the feature. So very nice. Puts a huge smile on my face. Still praying Tsunami. Again, Thanks so much and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
We’ll keep on purring and praying for Tsunami until you tell us not to. We so want him to get better real soon. How did the BG curve appointment go? And does the new antibiotic seem to be helping? Hugs!
Thanks for hosting. I see so many links I want to check out over the next few days! I hope your beautiful Tsunami gets well soon.
