Hello September
Now that September has arrived, I can’t help but wonder, what does this month mean to you? For me, September has always been a bit of a bittersweet month. It’s a time of transitions – a mini New Year of sorts – a time to create new routines and update calendars with the space to accommodate everything this new season holds.
September is the month to leave the things that hinder us behind. It’s the month to embrace new skills, new relationships, and new opportunities that will position you for 2021. It’s the time to make peace with all of the people and situations that have left you feeling off-balance and less than in your life – or to leave them behind you, once and for all.
Last month, I turned another year older. Birthdays have always been bittersweet occasions for me – they never quite seem to turn out the way they should – this year, the event was overshadowed by Tsunami’s passing. The incredible outpouring of love he received, reminds me how much we all matter and how much of an impact we all have on one another’s lives. If you haven’t had a chance to read the tribute I wrote for Tsunami, I invite you to join us as we Celebrate Tsunami’s Life.
Of course, Tsunami isn’t the only cat who’s impacted our lives. A stroll through the Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Blog Hop that Deb Barnes put together for all of us who have loved and lost a pet brought back so many poignant memories. Our friend Ellen at 15andMeowing shared that since she started blogging in 2014, she’s had 10 kitties go to the Rainbow Bridge. I can’t imagine the heartache that she must be feeling and yet, the love that she receives from every cat that becomes a part of her life somehow makes the inevitable more than worthwhile. I was particularly sad to see that Tallulah had crossed the bridge because I remember falling in love with her the first time I saw her on Ellen’s blog!
Another friend who shared some of her feline angels with us this week was Bionic Basil. Posie, Snowie, Humphrey, Millie and Namesake Basil have all crossed the bridge but they remain ever present in our thoughts. Posie (who is pictured) is another cat I wanted to scoop up in my arms when I saw her photo. All of these fur angels are so sweet as well!
Rest in peace, dear ones. I hope you are all becoming best of buddies on the other side!
September is a time of transitions, but it’s also a time of new beginnings. I don’t know what the month ahead holds, but I pray that it will be a good one for us all.

September is a beautiful time of year! The transition and new routines are like most of life…hard to see summer and the past go but excited for the new. It will be interesting to see what this looks like for all of us. Have a great weekend. Thanks for hosting!
Thank you so much for your kind words about my blog and my losses as well as my most recent, Polar Bear. It has been hard losing them, but I will always choose the pain in exchange for all the love they have given me. XO

Yes, their love makes us open our hearts again and again.
Sending you love as you grieve your losses.
I’m sorry that this has been a bittersweet time for you, Ramona, and especially that your birthday fell when you were losing Tsunami. We had to say goodbye to our cat Elwood on my 42nd birthday and I always remember him on the day ❤️Hoping this September will be full of blessings for us all. Thank you for hosting.

My pleasure… Posie just melted my heart.
September most definitely is a transition month. This was, I know, a very bittersweet one for you, Ramona. I’m glad so many friends reached out to share their love and care for Tsunami, you, Roy and Magellan, and that it was so good for your heart.

Thanks Kevin. Tsunami at 13 was our “quiet” cat so it’s shocking how quiet and empty the house feels without him.
Magellan is slowly adjusting but it’s not the same and he has become much more subdued in his brother’s absence.

As promised, I linked up Cat Thursday so you can meet Merida. Once again, positive thoughts for Tsunami. I hope he’s happy on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge, though I know he misses you as much as you miss him.

Thanks Michelle. I know we were his world and there’s no one he’d rather be with than us.
We miss our dear friends so much and send love and support to their families. We remember and it is so important to do that
I think of September as the month before ALL HALLOWS EVE, which is my fav holiday. Mom and I start to decorate the house though for it sometimes as early as September. I’m already making plans!
Mom thinks of the Siamese pussycats that her family had when she was a girl. Both pussycats lived long lives, but both went OTRB in the month of September.
I am saddened to hear that Tsunami went OTRB. I haven’t blogged much the past several months, so am trying to catch up on news from blogging pals. Hugs for you.
