Friend Of The Week – Little Frugal Homestead
Happy July to you dear friends – I hope that you are safe from hurricane harm and beating the heat this week!
Have you ever dreamed of selling most of what you have and moving to the woods to live a simpler, more sustainable life? I have – and this week I’d like to introduce you to Chris and Melissa, the couple behind Little Frugal Homestead who are living out that dream!
A few years ago, Chris and Melissa sold their house in South Carolina and moved to a small, one bedroom cabin on 42 acres in rural, middle Georgia. They dreamed of building a small homestead where they could learn to be more self-sufficient. It’s been a learning experience for them, but they love the small, friendly community they live in and are living a much happier life. How could they not when they are surrounded by two gardens, blueberry bushes, muscadine grapes, blackberry thickets, 14 sassy chickens, a handsome rooster named Chet, and one very) spoiled dog?
Chris and Melissa derive great joy from sharing their homesteading experiences with others too! Imagine the joy of picking fresh blueberries from your own bushes and turning them into a Glazed Blueberry Lime Loaf that’s bursting with fresh flavor!
Or imagine picking fresh vegetables from your garden and creating a delicious Greek Salad With Chicken. I’m not convinced that Chet the Rooster approves of this dish – but I’m sure the rest of us would say it’s de-lish!
Making new friends and deepening existing relationships is a joy. Be sure to visit Chris and Melissa this week, explore their blog, leave her some comment love, and congratulate her for being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy!

My pleasure Melissa – I always enjoy these Friday surprises!
Enjoy your week in the spotlight and thanks for sharing your life and your dreams! 🙂
Downsizing sounds nice, but I think my 11 cats would be cramped. 🙂 Thanks for hosting. Have a great weekend.

Yes you need a little more space for your 11 cats Ellen!

We are doing a different kind of down sizing as our nest empties.
