Divine Disruption by Tony Evans – Book Review

Divine Disruption

What type of season are you going through in your life right now? Are you are going through a season of loss due to the death of a loved one, the termination of a job, the abandonment of a dream that was near and dear to your heart, or the loss of your home or your source of financial security? Perhaps you’re dealing with a trial that is taking its toll on your health, your relationship and your peace of mind?

There are times in each of our lives when we have to deal with circumstances so devastating that we can’t help but wonder how we are going to hold on to our faith in the midst of our heartbreak. National renowned pastor Dr. Tony Evans and his equally influential family – daughters Priscilla Shirer and Chrystal Evans-Hurst and sons Anthony Evans Jr. and Jonathan Evans – recently walked through this type of dark soul of the night in their personal lives as they dealt with the loss of eight extended family members in less than two years, including their precious wife and mother, Lois Evans, after a prolonged, public fight with cancer.

God Is In Control

Now, in honor of their mother’s last wish – that they minister together as a family – the Evans family has given us the beautifully written and much needed gift of a book, Divine Disruption: Holding On To Faith When Life Breaks Your Heart.

As someone who has grappled with many tough questions involving God on her own journey to find answers in the midst of my own seasons of devastation, I appreciate the Evans family’s willingness to let us into the most private part of our lives in order to help us work through our raw emotions and challenging questions in a way that enables us to build our faith.

The only thing worse than going through a painful experience is feeling like there is no purpose behind it. Divine Disruption helps us to find the path to moving forward through the pain and finding our purpose beyond whatever pain we are experiencing in the present moment.

I highly recommend Divine Disruption to you.

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
