What Are Your Favorite Friends Up To This Week?
Happy June, dear friends, and thanks for your patience with the posting of the first Friendship Friday party of the month! I intended to have this live yesterday (Thursday is my usual posting day) but I ended up spending the day in workshops that went much longer than scheduled and ended up totally wiped!
So, I decided I would post Friday morning, only to discover myself totally wiped out after rising super early to attend several East coast friendly but West coast adverse Zoom calls! Since health is my #1 priority right now, I figured I would take a quick nap – only to crash for 3 hours!
Several years ago, I reviewed a very cool book called Cooking With Flowers by Miche Bacher. This book, which is filled with stunning photos of flower-infused food recipes throughout, identifies over 17 categories of flowers that we can incorporate into our meals, along with 100 artistic recipes we can make!
So, you may be wondering, why am I mentioning this book to you now?
Well, at our last Friendship Friday party, Michele from Coastal Bohemian shared a stunning looking and delicious example of what you can make using flowers with her Marigold Rose Petal Fennel Frond Salad with Red Lentils and Rose’ Rose Dressing!
What’s particularly special about Michele’s salad is that she gathered most of the ingredients from her own garden!
Speaking of gardens, Jennifer from Curated by Jennifer recently toured the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden and her photos are not to be missed! The gardens currently feature the stunning glass artwork of the Dale Chihuly, strategically placed throughout the gardens so it fits in the environment and surroundings.
Making new friends and deepening existing relationships is always a joy! Be sure to visit Michele and Jennifer this week, explore their blogs, leave them some comment love, and congratulate them for being our Friend Of The Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy!

Cooking with Flowers looks good. Thanks for hosting. Have a nice weekend.
Hope you have a nice weekend too Ellen!
I gotta say, that is one pretty salad! I hope you get to rest and relax this weekend. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Thanks so much – enjoyed seeing you and the kitties lounging on the couch this week!
Hope you can rest this weekend. Absolutely love the integration of flowers in cooking and baking. Thanks for hosting.
Thank you Regina – lots going on but my morning has started out pretty peacefully today and I am feeling much more rested!
So glad you enjoy the integration of flowers into cooking and baking too!
We have visited Phoenix’s Botanical Garden, spectacular!
Hope you have rested up.
xxoo
Cool Maggie – wish I was close enough to go there!
YES I am feeling much better today – thanks so much for checking up on me! 🙂
The salad looks delicious and all the flowers are incredible! Thank you, as always for hosting such an epic hop!
Thank you so much for joining us and sharing your cats and literary picks with us each week! 🙂
Oh yes, those time zone spanning Zoom calls are rough! I have a weekly morning call with my Israeli counterparts. It’s always weird that they are ending their day when I’m only starting mine.
How amazing that Michele cooks with flowers like that. So beautiful!
And we LOVE Chihuly. We’ve been to the museum in Seattle, but our favorite exhibition featuring his art is probably the one that was at the New York Botanical Garden. I love Jennifer’s photos of the glass in the midst of the desert. Amazing.
Hugs to you, Roy, and Magellan, Ramona. We hope you are doing well. 🙂
Hello and thanks. Linking to my reviews of books with info we all need eventually, hopefully later than sooner.,
Thanks for the the always open door!
That salad looks yummy. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.
Thanks so much for hosting. I shared from both my blogs. Hope your weekend was great and your week is starting fabulous.
I have seen many decorated cakes and I’ve seen flowers used as a garnish, but I have never seen such a beautiful cake, wow!
Thank you for hosting, wishing you a great week!
I love Chihuly!!
Cooking with flowers is a good thing. Beautiful.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. ♥
Thank you for hosting.
Visiting from #68
Thank you for the lovely feature. I’m slowly back to posting again and just saw this comment. We got a puppy right after I posted that and well, it’s like having a new born.
Glad you’re back. Would love to hear more about your new puppy. Congrats – be sure to share some pics! 🙂
