But First God: An Audio Memoir Of Spiritual Discovery by Julie Chen Moonves
It’s been awhile since I have been so captivated by an audiobook that I have listened to it non-stop since I’ve downloaded it. But I have been totally captivated by Julie Chen Moonves’ new book, But First God: An Audio Memoir Of Spiritual Discovery. If you are a fan of Julie’s, or a Christian who is fascinated by the testimonials of others, you will be too!
On the off-chance that you do not know Julie or her story, Julie is the beloved host of Big Brother and the former moderator of The Talk. Several years ago, Julie’s life blew up when her husband, Les Moonves – the former head of CBS network – resigned from his position over allegations of sexual misconduct. As a result, she left The Talk but remained as the host of Big Brother.
I don’t know whether or not the allegations were true, but I remember watching Julie during that time – being amazed at how faithfully she stood by her husband and family during that time – and wondering how she was able to withstand such a difficult situation while in the public eye.
In But First God, Julie shares everything in a riveting, no-holds barred way. She tales a deep dive into her spiritual awakening and offers profound insights into the pivotal moments that have shaped her life and career.
I truly enjoyed listening to Julie share how the trials of her life led to her finding God and placing her faith in Jesus. Her story is immersed in Scripture and stories of how she lives out her faith. It’s also filled with behind-the-scenes looks of every area of her personal and public life.
Julie’s story – told in crisp and clear audio – invites readers to reflect on their spiritual journeys and to find meaning and purpose in their lives. Her memoir is a must-read for anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of faith and spirituality.
I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This does sound like a compelling story. I didn’t know who she was until I looked further. This is something that I know I’d like to read.
Thanks for sharing your review with Sweet Tea & Friends this month sweet friend.
I’m not sure if the book is available to read – I listened on audio and since speaking on TV is her career, I particularly enjoyed hearing her share!
