Finding the right Bible to help you do this can be challenging. That’s why I’m excited to introduce you to the Encountering God Study Bible, published by Thomas Nelson Bibles. This Bible features supplemental materials from Henry Blackaby and his family that’s designed to help you draw closer to God by encountering Him through His Word!

The Encountering God Study Bible – written in the New King James Version translation – comes in several different format options. I was thrilled to receive the Black Leathersoft edition for review. This edition comes encased in a slip cover and is elegant in its design. There is a gold embossed tree of life on the front of the cover and honestly, the Bible looks and feels like real leather to me!

What I like most about this Bible is its interior design. The various types of featured content are woven into the Bible in such a way that they are not intrusive. The study aids complement the Bible text without overshadowing it. I particularly like the Encounter Notes which provide spiritual nourishment to ponder on throughout the day!

The Bible is designed in a 2-column format with reference verses down the middle. It’s printed on white paper with black text with red lettering for the words of Jesus. While I would not have minded a little color on the pages for aesthetics, this Bible lends itself to highlighting what’s important to you. It’s not designed for note-taking, however, as the margins are not wide enough for that purpose.
