Max On Life by Max Lucado

Max On Life by Max Lucado

Inside each of us burn questions for which there are no easy answers.

Why is there so much chaos and evil in the world? When prayers aren’t answered and calamities happen, is God sitting on His hands? Is God really concerned about the necessities of my life?

In Max On Life, Max Lucado – one of America’s best loved and most widely read pastors – tackles 172 of the most pressing questions he is asked as a pastor, author, husband, and father.

Some questions are personal. Some are theological. Some are practical. All are relevant.

If you are unfamiliar with Max Lucado, you are in for a treat. In classic Lucado style, Max responds to his readers in a way that penetrates to the heart of the matter while focusing on God’s mercy, compassion, and grace. His answers are biblically sound but conveyed in a manner that non-Christians can understand.

The book is divided into seven topical sections:

  • Hope
  • Hurt
  • Help
  • Him/Her
  • Home
  • Haves / Have-Nots
  • Hereafter

Interspersed throughout the book are copies of actual letters he’s received. At the end of the book is a Topical and Scripture Index. What is lacking at the beginning of the book is a list of the actual questions Max addresses.

That aside, the book is a wonderful reference to turn to when you need a quick insight into something that is troubling you, or clarification on an issue that is on your mind. It’s a great addition to the shelves of current Lucado aficionados, and a great introduction to those who are reading Lucado for the first time.

    Hi Ramona,

I've been reading Max Lucado books for years…they are awesome….anyone that may have a negative outlook on God should be introduced to these books….he writes in a way that is not "preachy". He's a wonderful storyteller.

Thanks for following me..I'm following you now too.

I love Max Lucado's writings. I'd be interested to read this book you reviewed. There are so many questions we all have about our world and our lives. I'd trust Max's take on those questions as I'm sure He'll be directing us to scripture.

    Blessings, Joan
