Friend Of The Week – Clare
I’d like to open this week’s column by thanking those of you who take the time each week to leave comments, to share a little bit about yourselves, and to answer our Question Of The Week! Not only do I appreciate your thoughtfulness, but your kind words to me and to one another really help to build a sense of friendship and camaraderie within our blogging community!
This week I’d like to introduce you to Clare – an Australian blogger who started her blog, My Life In Step, in 2015 as a way to share her life journey and to inspire and empower others to take the next step in their journey – whatever that might be!
At 35, Clare has been married to “Techman” for 12 years, and is mom to “My Little Scientist” (7 years old). “My Little China Doll” (3 years old), and “Little Bundle Of Joy” (who is due to arrive in November 2016!) Needless to say, she’s been busy preparing for Little Bundle Of Joy’s arrival with DIY projects like sprucing up the children’s bedrooms.
Since Clare does not know the gender of her child, she opted to create a gender-neutral nursery for Little Bundle Of Joy. Be sure to stop by Clare’s Baby Nursery Tour and check out her DIY Craft Projects!
Clare’s tip for cheering oneself up when you need a pick-me-up is to keep your mind busy creating things – to share a cupcake with an encouraging frined – and to reflect on the things that are going well in your life (based on Phillippians 4:8, a favorite Bible verse).

Wow! THANK YOU so much for featuring me! This truely has made my day 🙂 This question about finding out the gender of the baby is very on topic for life at the moment. For our first 2 children we had the doctor jot down the gender of the baby at our 20 week scan with the plan to look inside a just a month before bub arrived. For my first child we did this on my birthday and my husband and I went for a coffee and then bought a cute baby boy outfit to celebrate together. It was great fun! For our second child we ended up having a “gender reveal party”, I was unsure whether to baby shower or not and my grandma was very sick so we decided this might be a fun way to cheer her up with family. I loved it! and such a surprise for me when I bit into our cute little “Bee” shaped cake pops, wondering “What will it bee?” and there was pink inside! This time round, now having a boy and a girl I have chosen NOT to look inside the envelop and look forward to the fun of finding out when the baby is born. I am so looking forward to it…. So we have kind of done it 3 different ways and all 3 were fun and just right for that time in our lives 🙂

Thanks Michele! I am not sure what I’ll end up calling number 3 yet. Will use “Little bundle of Joy” till I work it out, hopefully I get a moment of inspiration before he/ she gets too old, but I guess this will suit for a little while at least 🙂

Awww that friend of the week is so nice of you! Now as far as your question goes I have had five pregnancies in my life and I did not know one of them nor did I want too! The surprise is always as wonderful as the birth. As long as it was a healthy baby is all I cared about.
