Hope Is A Blind Bard Sister Maura Eichner |
This week, I received some distressing news. As a result, I’m departing from my regularly scheduled WOYWW post to share a poem that a former teacher, friend, and mentor wrote. I am sharing it in both written form and on video – I was actually present at this reading! I hope you enjoy the poem, and I hope you’ll stop by my Photo Of The Week to see one of my first – and favorite – pictures of Legend.
Make routine a stimulus. Remember it can cease.
Have a blessed week, dear friends!

Mmmm, the recipe looks yummy! I particularly like the bit about routine in the poem, as well. Hope you can come to terms with your bad news, best wishes, Helen
'Make routine a stimulus' that was the line that really struck me immediately. Am so sorry that you've had to bear distressing news.
It's lovely to be able to fondly remember someone who was inspiring.

I like the poem. The cat heads on the bodies picture is sort of freaky, but compelling. Please Visit me
Good Afternoon, thanks for sharing this and so sorry you have had distressing news – I'm sure you take comfort from the words of the poem. I, too, have a favourite poem that I go back to whenever I need it, so know how soothing these words can be. Elizabeth x #61
I also had the privelege of knowing this gentle nun in life and death. Listening to her recite her poems or reading "Hope is a Blind Bard" was a blessing in itself.
The picture of Sister Maura at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland reciting "What her students taught her" brings back memories of your college days. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
Sounds like you need some hugs Ramona! Hope all is well.
Hugs
