Oh Christmas Tree

This morning, as I was looking over my most recently created Christmas cards, I made a surprising discovery:

Each card features a Christmas tree as the focal point of its design!

Although I hadn’t planned it that way, my love of Christmas trees shines through loud and clear!

With that in mind, I thought it would be fun as I share my cards to include a verse from that wonderful carol “Oh Christmas Tree” – also known as “O Tannenbaum!”

The die cuts are from KI Memories.

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thou tree most fair and lovely!
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree!
Thou tree most fair and lovely!
The sight of thee at Christmastide
Spreads hope and gladness far and wide
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree
Thou tree most fair and lovely!

    That's cool!

I think if I were to look at the majority of the cards I made this year, the main theme would probably be "Snowmen" and/or "Snow People". I have always loves 'Snow People" and even have my own little collection that I use are part of my Christmas Decor.

I also love opening the new cards that arrive each day, and it's wonderful to see so many "Handmade" cards I have received this year! I have to admit, that they are MY favorite! 🙂

    How neat is that?

I wonder if the rest of you have noticed any trends like that in your card-making?

If so, please share – what themes are most prevalent in your Christmas cards this year?

I've been using Christmas trees on my few cards and tags too. It's such a neat thing to use. The song is great too.

I also love snowflakes and have made many snowflake cards in years past, but haven't made any so far this year.

In real life, I love Christmas ornaments, but I don't think I've ever made a Christmas ornament card.

Hmmmm…maybe I will have to put that on my list of personal challenges!

By the way, Lisa, I think I made some cute snow people cards awhile back – if I can find them, I'll post them for you! 🙂

    Hi Chris,

One of the wonderful things I discovered about using the trees was it's a great way to use your bling!

Not that I blinged out all of my cards – some of them I tried to keep simple – but Christmas cards and tags sure are a great way to use it up for those of us who like pretty sparkly jewels!

I think I may have to find the time to squeeze out at least one more Christmas tree project this week – I need something to post with the last verse to the song, lol! 🙂
