Do you need a visual break from winter and all of the snow? Are you seeing red from one too many Valentines? Would you welcome a reminder that spring is just around the corner?
Today’s ATC, Create, was designed with No Time To Stamp’s Stamp Simply Color Challenge #126 in mind. The challenge called for participants to use the beautiful color combination of Purple and Green in whatever way inspired them. I wanted to make something that felt “fresh” so I thought Spring and came up with this design which is bursting with blooms and the creative energy of spring!
The rich green background comes from one of the rolls of decorative tape I recently found at the Dollar Days sale at Michaels. On a different day, I might have interpreted the design as a beautiful filigree or tapestry pattern, but today, it reminded me of leaves and vines, so I dug through my bling box until I found the perfect purple floral rhinestone to add as the finishing touch!
I dug through my scrap bags and found the ribbons and tag, which I felt perfectly complemented the card. Although I love my collection of silver rimmed vellum tags, I never quite know what to do with them, so I really love how the tag lets the background show through and serves as a frame for the message on this card!
The Create stamp is from Just Rite Stamps (again, these are the perfect stamps for ATCs – I love that you can just stamp a message without having any mess to clean up when you are through!) The most difficult part of making this card was getting the little white rhinestone to stick to the surface of the purple rhinestone flower – it kept wanting to slip off of the surface!
I hope you enjoyed a little something different this Valentine’s weekend! Just a reminder – if you have not already done so, be sure to register for my One World One Heart Giveaway as the contest ends tomorrow, and I will be announcing the lucky winner on Monday, Feb 15th!
