Today there is much cause for celebration in our household as my little Baby Bear turns three! So, in lieu of my regular What’s On Your Workdesk Wednesday column, I will be commemorating this special day with a walk down memory lane and sharing a little of Legend’s history with you – as well as his kitten photos!
When we first made the decision to bring Tsunami into our home, we decided we wanted a second companion as well. We would have happily adopted one of Tsunami’s brothers, but they were all spoken for, so the breeder promised us our pick of a future litter. Little did she know that the kitten I would fall head over heels in love with would be her precious Grizzly – a kitten she also had her sights on as a future show cat at the time!
Legend was special from the beginning. He was a little love bug from the start who just had that special something about him. I fell in love with him the first time I saw his photos at 4 weeks (Photos 2 and 3) and fell more and more in love with him with each passing photo. My favorite kitten picture of him is Photo 1 – he is 6 weeks in that picture!
Legend was well socialized by the breeder and is very much a “people person” type of cat. But he also loved his littermates. He had a special bond with one of his littermates – Forrest Gump – who, unfortunately, is no longer with us.
There were a lot of unexpected twists and delays in Legend’s journey to us – at times it did not look like he would be coming – but I am SO grateful that he finally made it to our home! We have such a special bond between us. While Tsunami is a daddy’s boy at heart, there is no doubt that I am Legend’s special person. He will follow me everywhere as I make my rounds throughout the day, sometimes content to nap near me, other times vying for my attention. He is extremely communicative – he constantly trills and chirps to make his wishes known!
Last week, I invited you to guess Legend’s birthday, and one reader – Lyn (Spyder) – correctly guessed May 19th! So, thanks to all of you who played along, and congratulations Lyn, for submitting the winning date! Please e-mail me when you have a moment – Legend and I have a little surprise waiting for you!
Now, I know that some of you are in kitty heaven as a result of today’s post – while others of you are chomping at the bit for the scrappy stuff! If you need more of the latter, be sure to stop by Julia’s place and browse to your heart’s content!
But, before you go, please leave Legend some birthday wishes so we know you were here – and, be sure to enter the Altered Pages Collage Sheet Giveaway if you have not already done so as we are nearing the end of the month (and the drawing of the grand prize!) This week’s featured collage sheet is Mae West – awesome for any art project!
