The One Year Book Of Healing – Book Review

The One Year Book Of Healing

The One Year Book Of Healing by Dr. Reggie Anderson – Book Review

Dr. Reggie Anderson – a highly acclaimed, award winning rural doctor and Christian author – wants to share what he has learned after practicing medicine for over thirty years: that God loves us and wants to heal us of those things that ail us, even if His idea of healing is different than ours.

In his latest book, The One Year Book Of Healing – Appointments With God For Physical, Spiritual, And Emotional Wholeness, Dr. Reggie writes:

Because we live in a broken, sinful world, we are all sick or hurting in some way. Some of us need to be healed of things that can be easily fixed, like a sprained ankle or a treatable illness. Others of us need to be healed from things that are not so easy to see – like abuse suffered in the past or emotional wounds from a broken relationship. Perhaps you have a chronic, debilitating disease that won’t go away without miraculous intervention. Or maybe it’s a temporary condition that will get better with time. Whatever your sickness, whatever your hurt, I want you to know that God loves you and wants to heal you.

The One Year Book Of Healing contains 365 daily devotions that shows some of the ways that God heals those who are hurting and in need of healing today, based on the experiences of Dr. Reggie and his patients. The devotions are designed to encourage us, to inspire us, and to keep build our relationship with God in fresh ways each month and each season.

Dr. Reggie shares several important principles to keep in mind pertaining to healing as we read this book:

  • God is the one who heals
  • Sometimes emotional healing must come first.
  • Healing comes in many forms.
  • Our hope for healing is only in Jesus Christ.
  • Prayer is an important part of the healing process.
  • Healthy living leads to healthy lives.
  • Sometimes we must overcome obstacles to healng.

I believe that The One Year Book Of Healing is full of inspiration and encouragement and plan on including this book on my devotional reading list for the year. I definitely recommend it to you!

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
