Heroines Of The New Testament Coloring Book – Review

In a world where everything seems to be moving increasingly faster, one of the most important passages of Scripture for us to take note of is Psalm 46:10, which says:

Be still and know that I am God

I often find it hard to set aside time to be still – to turn off the noise inside of my head – and to focus on God – but one of the best ways I’ve found to do this is through Bible-based coloring.

When I color as a spiritual activity – that is, when I seek books filled with images that provide me with the opportunity to reflect on God’s Word and His movement in my life – I find that the process of coloring allows me to shut off all of the things that are going on around me and to be fully present to the presence of God in that moment.

I can pray. I can memorize Scripture more easily. I can think more creatively. I can painlessly disconnect from technology. I feel less stress and anxiety. I can listen for God’s voice and hear more clearly what He is saying to me.

Have you experienced the joy of disconnecting from the day and fully immersing yourself into the presence of God through a discipline such as creative coloring?

If you have, you’ll be especially interested in the latest coloring book to cross my desk – and if not, I invite you to give this wonderful way of worshipping a try!

What a lovely coloring book. I can imagine peace and beauty when working in this lovely book. Mary, the mother of Jesus, is a true heroine. She bore the Savior of us all. mauback55 at gmail dot com

  2. Anne says:

My favorite is Esther. Since she is a true heroine in being strong and having the courage to combat cruelty. Purim is very soon.

  3. Annie Douglass Lima says:

I’ve always admired the Syro-Phonesian (sp?) woman who came to beg Jesus to heal her daughter. Just being a Gentile probably meant she had a hard time getting close access to him in the first place, and she didn’t take what initially sounded like a “no” for an answer. Her faith and perseverance were rewarded.

  4. Edye says:

I love Jesus! He is our savior 🙂

  5. jenny stratton says:

I don’t have a favorite New Testament Heroine. I guess if I had to pick it would be Mary.

  6. Peggy Nunn says:

Mine would be Mary. Could you imagine being pregnant then without being married? All that and having the responsibility of carrying the Savior of the World

  7. Pam says:

I can’t narrow that down to less than 3. My top 3 are: Miriam (the first woman activist of sorts though I’m probably reaching here), Ruth (she was so smart and kind and faithful), and Mary (what she must have endured as a single pregnant woman and as the mother of Christ).

My email is: momaloft4@momaloft and I do live in the US. Thanks!

  8. Pam says:

Nope. My email is: momaloft4@gmail.com Sheesh. LOL

  9. Julie Waldron says:

Mine is Mary because she gave birth to Jesus.

I seen the movie 10 Commandments about Moses… my favorite line was “Let me people go” and Charlton Heston was the best and only made me love the story more and more…

  14. Lauralee Hensley says:

Well most all of us would say Mary who welcomed Jesus Christ to be placed in her womb though she was unmarried at the time and I agree. Yet, I also like Ester who spoke up to the King for her people the Jews. She did what her Uncle asked of her.

  15. Rosemary Kanspedos says:

You have been blessed with great creativity – thanks for sharing!

  16. Alesia Stevens says:

I love this coloring book! I would love to win one of these! My favorite heroine of the New Testament would have to be Mary, the mother of Jesus. The strength of her faith in God! To become pregnant with Our Lord while unmarried, to raise him and watch him grow and then to see him Crucified for the sins of the world including my own! To see how he was treated all the while trusting God! Wow!

  17. Karen says:

I appreciate having different levels of detail throughout the book. That’s a really great feature.

    This looks lovely.

  18. Brandi Raae says:

Thanks for sharing this resource at Literacy Musing Mondays!

  19. Mary. What lady in the New Testament is more heroic than she is? 🙂

  20. Melissa Hensley says:

My favorite is Mary. She is Jesus Mom.
    Beautiful book!

  21. shirley says:
