Wordless Wednesday – Do Cats Enjoy TV?

Cat TV

Welcome To Wordless Wednesday At Create With Joy!

Tsunami Loves Cat TV

After a long day, what do you do to unwind? Some of us curl up with a good book… some of us go out on the town… but just about everyone watches television to relax! According to a 2017 survey conducted by Statistic Brain, did you know that:

  • 99% of households own at least one television set and 65% own three or more sets?
  • 67% of Americans regularly watch television while eating dinner?
  • The average person spends 9 years of their life watching tv?

It’s apparent that television plays an instrumental part in our daily lives. Have you considered the role that television can play in the lives of your pets?

It’s important to provide our pets – particularly our indoor cats – with plenty of intellectual stimulation and safe entertainment, and cat tv is one way to do just that!

Cat TV 2

Most cats love to watch things that stimulate their natural prey instinct and catch their attention through quick movement across the screen. We’ve found that our cats enjoy watching birds, squirrels, fish and other wildlife flicks the best!

There are actual videos you can buy and stations you can subscribe to that specialize in program that’s specifically designed for your cats – but You Tube provides a constant source of entertainment for our cats!

The one thing that you should do before leaving your cats unsupervised during Cat TV time is to ensure that they have a safe set up (you don’t want the television to go crashing on their heads should they get overly excited by the prey that they are watching!)

We watch our cats watch Cat TV at times for our enjoyment (and those are the times we give them more active programs to wach, when they have our full attention and supervision). If we are going out to run an errand, we leave them with a peaceful aquarium scene that will entertain and relax them!
