Ginger The Glitter Giraffe

Today’s ATC features Ginger, the Glitter Giraffe – a glitzy creature roaming through the Exotic Jungle of my imagination – in a land first introduced by Wendilee, who chose Exotic Jungle as her theme for a recent Winner Take All swap!

I discovered Ginger while on Expedition – specifically, while digging through a CTMH Level 2 Expedition Paper Packet – along with several of her friends!  Of all the animals I met that day, Ginger was my favorite – she reminded me of the giraffes I hand-fed in San Diego a few years ago – a thrill I’ll never forget!  As soon as I saw Ginger, I knew I had to take her out and dress her up!

To create this card, I positioned my ATC base over the image I wanted from the CTMH paper, then carefully cut, centered, and adhered the image to the cardstock.  Next, I thought it would be cool to use both Regular and Distress Stickles on the same card, so I chose three colors from my collection and began to play!

First, I dressed Ginger in Regular Orange Peel Stickles, to really make her sparkle!  Then, I added Tim Holtz’s Painted Peel Distress Stickles to the trees.  The Distress Stickles allows the trees to pop from the background by adding color and dimension without detracting from the glamorous Ginger!  To complete the card, I framed the image in Regular Silver stickles, which gives the card a tapestry effect!

I love the finished card and hope to introduce you to more of Ginger’s friends on my next visit to the Exotic Jungle!

Thanks Christina – I love Ginger too – wouldn't she make a great character for a children's book? I am definitely going to have to book some future expeditions to the Exotic Jungle so I can meet her friends. Shall I book you a plane ticket too?
